Im agnostic but am in the same boat as any other non-muslim...why cant all non-muslims start a dialogue of unification...havent all non-muslims evolved to the point where we have learned to at least tolerate each other? I think so...lets take it the next step now and resist the most intolerant force ever diseased upon humanity.

It is rather difficult when a suicide bomber makes their opinion completely clear in a crowded marketplace

Have you or anyone here studied the history of US foreign policy? People don't take kindly to having foreign troops occupying their land or their neighbor's land, and having some or all of their families killed and maimed. Losing everything you have tends to radicalize folks in some very ugly ways. People for the most part ignore both the political and human costs of an interventionist foreign policy. Murphy's Law run amok.

It is irrelevant what your religious affiliation is, if you don't understand what the impediments to peace, prosperity, and stability really are (vs your ideology), better religious understanding will only get you so far. Not far enough.

An excellent question and a positive point brought forth. i would agree that the Muslim faith has made the most intolerent followers in the world. Should we eradicate them? I think no, but we do need to find some solid solutions.

your idea sounds good on the surface but its the details i would like clarified ... one thing i am firmly against is a preemptive type war .. this type of war involves lying and propaganda and by its very nature demonizes the supposed enemy. If and when there is any attack against us or our allies then there should be a swift and decisive response to crush any country that the attackers originated from regardless if the govt claims seperation from them ... the current lebanon situation is a good example. Israel is our ally ... we should immediately attack and put down iran and syria for sponsoring an attack on our ally ... but situations like iraq there is no excuse for ... if we or our allys are attacked we should capitalize on it and completely remove the threat from that country. Just declaring war on muslims is the wrong thing to do ... if they attack us fine nail them. they need to stop with all the "terrorism" bs and fight an actual war ... the facts are that hezbolla is a militia trained and armed by syria/iran and allowed to freely operate by lebanon ... all 3 countries should be put down immediately. a couple of rogue guys blowing up a plane although terrible is not a threat to our country ... regular and persistant attacks to us and our allies from a specific country is another story and demands a crushing military response.

I do feel a strong non-Muslim link to my christian brothers and sisters.

I am a patriot and can not believe some of the things that Muslims say.

There is a Muslim protest in Seattle today. All 100 of them marching to support Lebanon and the UK hijacker 'suspects'

Some idiot came on and actually denounced their arrests. It is so wrong to harass those innocent Muslims. think of the bad name they will have afterwards. Poor guys.

I never hear any opposition to launching rockets into Israel though.

Hindus, and the non-religious have never started a war in the name of religion.

All of the rest you have listed have dozens of times each.

So wouldn't it be better for the non-religious and the truly peaceful religions band together against the truly warmongering religions of the god of Abraham.

No, cause Muslims are protecting themselves from people who think like you. People like you make the world worse than it is. Christians are the ones who are full of hate to other religions.

Dude personally I think you need to maybe take a break from your mind and go hiking or swimming or something. You have major issues with overanalysis.

The Koran is believed, by almost all believers, to be Allah's direct words to his followers. So it is not capable of error & is resistant to interpretation. In practical effect, there is little 'wriggle room" The bible is thought, by theologians and believers, (Christians & Jews), to be the writings of men & can be erroneus, and subject to interpretation & change. Unfortunately the Koran is riddled with the most horrendously intolerant suras (verses), throughout its text. The ninth chapter is particularly full of these verses. They call for the murder and defilement of polytheists, (e.g. Hindus), Atheists, Christains, Jews and apostates (that are religions that come after Islam (e.g. Bahais).) The verses should be read, & interpreted in the historical context and circumstances when they were written. Which "modify" the text.
But many Muslims take the verses literally and that gives them a mission to convert or kill or subdue all non-Muslims. (or have them live under Muslim law (the barbaric sharia), and dominence. Although a minority view there are millions of Muslims who will convert or kill everyone else. (it is said by Muslim apologists that only 1% of their adherents hate America, that works out to 130 million people.) Almost all Muslims are NOT terrorists but the majority of terrorists are Muslim. I am not prepared to wait and sit just to find out who are the fanatic few. (nor is my family).
In other words, all of us non-Muslims are in the fight for our lives and we are not safe until Islam roots out their homicidal few. They have done nothing, as of yet, to move in that direction. Muslim organisations continually disavow Muslim terrorists whenever those terrorists are cought Their spokesmen they restate repeatedly that they are peaceful. Their activites suggest just the opposite. Madrid and London subways are blown up Nightclubs, in Bali are blown up. The World trade centre was attacked twice and finally destroyed. the pentagon damaged with loss of life. 6 women shot at a Jewish community center , (one killed, 2 critical one of whom was pregnant), by a 2'nd. generation American citizen of Pakistani Muslim origin.10 British airliners were to be the target of Muslim bombs. (2'nd. generation British citizens of Muslim Pakistanti origin). One American Muslim convert accused of trying to denoate a nuclear dirty bomb in Chicago. Mr. Reid, a British Muslim convert trying to blow up an airliner with a shoe bomb. Highjacked planes, cruise ships (the Achile Lauro), Aircraft bombings. It goes on and on.
Extreme antisemitic and anti-Christian statements in sermons in some Mosques in the U.S.A., Canada England Europe and elsewhere. (talk about bighting the hand that feeds you and lets you in as immigrants).. The Islamic media generally is virulently antisemitic and most are anti-American. Especially the Wahabbi branch of Islam. (predominent in Saudi Arabia, Yemen ), that is growing rapidly World-wide) and is actively working to convert and destroy the west).
It goes on and on.
Frankly that religion terrifies me, and my family .
Dan.
