everyone drives BMW 3's - but BMW and Mercedes have such crappy reliability - get a Lexus if you want the best in initial quality and reliability, as well as customer service. Audi's are below average in reliability as well - inifinit does well, but aren't as nice on the interior as a Lexus.
I would get the AWD Lexus IS 250 - my girlfriend's mom just got one and the amount of bells and whistles on it are amazing! touch screen nav, back up cam - keyless entry, push button start, the doors unlock when you approach - it's sweet. plus, it's cheaper and not everyone has one.

I generally can't stand BMW drivers, but the cars are terrific and reliable. Mercedes remind me of the WC Fields comment, "Women are like elephants...pretty things to look at, but I wouldn't want to own one." I WANT to like Mercedes, but they have so many electrical bugs and other reliability issues that I would take this one off the list. I've only owned one Audi and it will be my last. Worst car I've ever owned. The Service Manager knew me by name after I'd owned it for two weeks and the thing was a nightmare. Can't go wrong with a Lexus or Infiniti. All of these cars have such different characteristics (front vs. rear-wheel drive....) that only you can decide. I wish I had this problem.

As a former BMW, Mercedes and current Infiniti owner, I would strongly recommend either the Lexus or Infiniti. The German cars are great, but they require SO much more upkeep, and something always seems to be going wrong.
In 5 years, my Infiniti has never been in the shop for anything but scheduled maintenence, and Lexus' are the same. Stick with one of these.

since it seems you have the money, why not choose the best - MB C230 or the BMW 325i... German cars are still way better in terms of tested performance and image. Others will look like newbies when compared to these 2 german brands.

I think you should pick AUDI A4. Actually you should try AUDI S4. It is the sport version and is just amazing. Build for speed and luxury.
Or if you want coupe go for G35 is also nice ride.
Good luck

The Lexus is a slam dunker...
It has the best chance to last the longest and is a sweet ride.
