Bug zappers only spread germs in an explosion of bug guts.
That's why all commercial food establishments use a new device with a UV light and sticky paper.

Look for something along those lines. You'll be happy you did.

Unfortunately, bug zappers draw way too much power to be run by battery for more than a couple "zaps."

If you're traveling where you haven't got power, try repelents such as citronella candles, or "Off!" brand sprays to keep insects away.

It's not as spectacular, I know. But it does work.

I've never seen one...the do make propane powered portable mosquito killers.
