NO! Ego is a hard and fast complex that is a part of the grand design we call human. Why would it be anything but useful? Ego motivates and otherwise teaches us many things. Use it or lose it. But use it to good benefit....never ease god out of your life.

Of course not. That's silly. It's not an acronym; it's Latin. Ego is the nominative of the first person singular personal pronoun and is translated as "I myself" to express emphasis.

The ego, super-ego, and id are the divisions of the psyche according to psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud's "structural theory." The id contains "primitive desires" (hunger, rage, and sex), the super-ego contains internalized norms, morality and taboos, and the ego mediates between the two and may include or give rise to the sense of self.

What makes Christians love beating themselves up and feeling guilty about everything from being born to breathing, forever lying down and begging 'God' to kick them for being human? There is nothing wrong with having an ego. Without one the person wouldn't be able to think, or reason, or love, or be human.

Could very well be for those that are concerned with their ego. But for those of us who have none, we will never ease HIM out as he showed us that ego's are not as important as humility and therefore we strive to be humble in all areas of our lives..........

Linguists believe that all words are acronyms for something. You may be right or wrong, but hey, who they hell cares? Words are merely vehicles for thoughts & one vehicle is as good as another.

I think most people's god concepts are egotistic. For example, thinking an omnipotent being watches your every move.

Ego is LATIN for "self". Try the truth instead of platitudes to make you feel more righteous about your faith.
