Yes. There are A FEW FREE internet programs where you can make computer to computer calls ANYWHERE on the planet--with NO long distance charges!! Add a cam to your PC (and they have to have the same), and you can also videoconference as well.

I regularly videoconference my friends in England using this and it's great! Yahoo Messenger so far works best.

Yeah, you can purchase a pre-paid long distance phone card, but where's the fun in that????

wanna be evil? Go out and buy a cheap cordless phone(Savers, Salvation army store, yard sale, ETC!). walk around pressing the on button every time you pass a house and when you hear a dial tone; bingo! phone should be at least a 2.4 ghz. Higher and you could just drive around with it out the window switching it on and off with an ear piece in to listen for the tone. If the person picks up the phone say "hello?" then "Oh; our phones must be sharing a channel, hang up and I'll change channels." then hang up quickly! This works good in apartment complexes with lots of units close together.

No.....hey!yes,call from a local phone booth and pay it there....
That call wont show up in ur phone bill....
Please install a messenger (like the yahoo one).long distance and short distance messaging are of the same amount...

I believe it is still considered a Federal Offense to make an illegal ld call by bypassing your carrier.

Do the opposite of what my Baby-sitter's boyfriend did when he wanted to talk to her, waited for her to be at my house and called 'collect'/reverse charge.
