I'm 42 so I can answer that question. If a guy asks that he is definitly interested and is trying to broach the subject. He's not going to go running as he already likes you, enough to ask this. The answer is and if he is man enough to understand it.... someone who can love me like I love him. Someone who knows when to be serious and also knows when to have fun. Anything else sounds like a shopping list. If he is the right guy he can fill in the blanks. My girlfriend and I had this same conversation before we got together. She expressed how hard it was to find the right guy and I said the same. There was the seriousness, playfullness and setting the stage for how things would be if we were together. Basically saying that I am tired of the crap and want to be in a relationship that means something. But serious flirting at it's best because when a guy asks you this it means he's thinking that you could be that person. After our conversation my girlfriend called me up and said let's go out. I was having a wimpy moment and was so happy that she took the lead. Because no matter how strong and confident a guy may be sometimes when it comes down to a women that really tugs at the heart we lock up a bit. It's not just shooting the **** at a party. So call him up and go out for happy hour. Have the whole night free, be yourself, don't think about anything else but the joy of just being. Talk and have fun. You want him? Go get him... trust me on this. Reminds me.... I need to call my girlfriend just to tell her how much I love and appreciate her because just thinking about that night we had that conversation you are talking about....... warms my heart.

here's what's going to happen. When a guys asks that question he is either trying to simply see if he is your type or he is just asking to see if he fits the part that most girls want...but this normally isn't the case. When he asks that, simply reply with every characteristic refering to him of course. He's either going to react in really two ways...1, he's going to notice that you like him, even if he wasn't seeing you as dating material...YET, and he's going to be flattered and probably ask you on a date, or 2, he's going to take what you say as compliments and maybe not now, but at least you know, that he knows you like him. So I'd say 75% chance, your going on a date with him soon. :D Have fun!

interesting question... it might or might not tell you that he's interested in being more than just a friend. maybe he's just curious.
well.. here's a simple question:
be honest in what you are looking for in a man. tell him what is important to you, and what is not.
i'm sure he won't go running scared.
it is not that bad to not get what you think you want.
but if you want to settle for what you don't want, use your creativity and tell him what he wants to hear... and most accuratley describing him....
