I'm freaked out about white spots at the end of treatment

The glue isn't meant to come off... until you get you braces off... thus it will stay there... it shouldn't effect you much with the apperance or hygiene while having braces. If it's irritaing you tell your orthodontist he/she might remove some of the excese but most likely he/she won't.

White spots do not appear because of the glue. The permante white spots appear because of poor oral hygiene. Keep in mind that if you do get white spots because of poor oral hygiene, IT WILL NEVER COME OFF! Even with whitening, the spots become brighter. The only way to get rid of the spots is to get porceline venures which cost upto $15,000 a TOOTH!

To prevent this from occuring everytime I ate something I always brushed my teeth and gums thoroughly after. At night I used the Floride rinse and flossed... If you keep doing this while your braces are on then you will never have a white spot.

PLEASE don't use any whitening strips, bleaches, and whitening toothpaste while you have your braces ON. If you do this while the braces are on the area around the brace will be brighter! After you get the braces off it's okay to use those products.

When the braces come off, the cement/glue will come off too and you won't notice a thing!

I'm a dental assistant, AND wore braces myself for 2 years. I did have some residual cement on my teeth, if it feels rough, you should go back to have it removed. I've had my braces off for at least 7 years and i still have "squares" left on my teeth from the brackets. This is called calcification. It fades over time and isn't all that noticeable. If your doctor says theres no cement on your teeth, then you may have calcification marks.

The best way to prevent decalcification is to take a daily fluoride treatment. Buy over the counter and use just before bed. Do not eat or drink once used or it will wash off your teeth. Don't drink soda pop or sports drinks the citric acid will eat your enamel.

no it wont come off until you go back in and they use some sort of sander. and when u get them off, use crest white strips. my friends used it and it worked really well also use a whitening toothpaste. i currently have braces and get them off soon hopefully, thats what im planning to do. i use a whitening toothpaste now and it works extremely well.
