I say go for it. You're hurting, so let someone comfort you temporarily.

I can tell you as a guy that went through your situation, it doesn't help. What you are doing is trying to patch the "wound" with sex, thinking (most likely subconciously) that sex will fill the void. It won't work. Right now what you need is to stay single and just work through the separation from this girl, and only do lite dating (going with a girl and a bunch of friends out for food or a movie) until you can be a good boyfriend again. There is no quick fix for this, it takes time. It's like a broken arm, you can't just expect it to heal in a day, it take stime.

I once got good advice about this. You MUST allow your heart some time to greive. If you don't it will never seem over. If you sleep with someone else - it will make you forget in the moment but afterwards it won't help. YOu will either feel bad or you will project your feeling of love on the new girl out of loneliness.
Let your soul heal - in the end it makes you a better person.

No that's not going to help you get over the pain. only because soon as you finish doing it the pain will come back. Just go out have some fun do other things to get those thoughts out of you mind. If you do something constructive, something that will make you happy everyday. Time will heal all wounds. I know I have been there.

NO.
But you could choose to stop being a victim and look at the upside.....she will become somebody else's problem now.
Forgive her for her shortcomings, she can't help it.
Thank her for teaching you what to avoid in the future.
Don't use other people. Eventually you will be ashamed of yourself. Besides, other ladies have nothing to do with this, so don't drag them into it.
If you don't lose this baggage, it will be like poop that you picked up and put in your pocket. It will stink and others will notice.
Forgive yourself, and her. This builds character and experience. Get back at her by NOT LETTING THIS DESTROY YOU. Live well and better yourself, master a skill. Date many women, each for different reasons. Avoid dating exclusively for a while and do not become too emotionally invested in one person. Date different women for different reasons, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. No one on this earth is responsible for your feelings or your happiness and no one wants the responsibility. Neediness or desperation are not attractive qualities to have, and they scare people away. Be brave, get out there and face possible rejection, but don't turn down potential friends and lovers.
Good luck.

Having sex aint gonna make the pain go away, man. It takes time to heal. I'm sorry for whatever broke your heart, but sex aint the answer, my friend.
It may not seem like it now, but life goes on and the pain will fade.

It only helps during the actual act. You will probably feel worse after wards. Doing something fun for yourself, try to get out and meet new people. Life will get better.

Sorry about your heart getting broken. Sex just for the sake of having sex may be a moment of fun, but it won't stop the heart ache.
Occupy your mind -- sports, volunteer, friends, whatever.

Honestly, it might help you forget. Hopefully, your mind will be on the other person that you are having sex with, and it will be a good distraction. Just be careful with thinking that way.
