Recently my appetite has gone out of control. Does anyone know how I can significantly decrease it?

Reduce the amount of processed sugar you eat.

Sugar (and corn syrup!) makes your blood sugar level rise rapidly (and then later fall). That yo-yoing makes you hungry all the time, even if your body doesn't need calories.

So try to eat more "quality" food that isn't just empty calories.

Lots of fiber (fresh fruits/veggies) and lots of water will make you feel more full...

Well, what i would do is keep a steady diet with foods with fewer calories like a pretzel instead of chips. I suggest you not to skip meals beacause your body will think it's starving and it will slow down your metabolism, but if you eat it will keep your metabolism at a steady rate. Hope this helps!
