Now that the UN has proven not to be able to make any kind of statement for or against the Israeli agression against the Lebanese citizens, would a boycot of Israeli products be a good way to prove that the world is fed up with the constant war in the Middle East?
Let's face it: oil prices are going up again, due to yet another war. As a result, prices of almost everything else are going up as well. Lebanese and Israeli citizens are bombed on a daily bases, and the UN are sitting on their hands, not doing anything because the US government is vetoing any and all proposals put before the UN.
It's time this agression stops, time for people to take a stand and say they're not willing to sit and watch yet another genocide. But what would be the most effective way? A boycot of Israeli products would be a good start, but what else can be done?

Maybe some clarification is in order, reading the answers given so far.
First off, I'm Dutch (someone thought I was from the US. Apart from having lived a year in AZ, I'm not).
Secondly, I don't advocate or want the genocide of any people. Not the Israeli, not the Lebanese, not any. Period.
Leaving the Middle East to sort things out on their own is the fastest way to start an all-out war in the region, against Israel, leading to genocide, but also to the fall of the worlds economy. Fuel prices will rocket sky high, even in the US, and since the economy is reliying on the fuel prices to stay below a certain level, we would all go out of business.
There's no such thing as me having listened too much to muslims: I'm an atheist, and frankly I blame all the wars this world has seen on religion. Think about it.
But there's also no such thing as "having the muslims win". That's nonsense: there's no absolute right or wrong here, and that's what makes this so difficult.

A boycott of Israeli products, your first suggestion, the one you say should be a "start", would never happen in America. The Bush administration, is dead set on its course of supporting Israel's war efforts. Personally, I don't see how any of this will change for the next two years, until the next presidential election.

Something very uncomfortable has to happen to remove the padding of blankets every American has under their backs. Then, someone instigates a social revolution to awaken the mass of the population living under the blinding covers provided by our Government.
After a coup of Congress and the Senate, the president is removed from power through force or a massive shift to the left of the political alingment cue - in such, everything ever written except perhaps the Bill of Rights is overturned and re-written; removing all power from previous rulings and regulations placed by the Democracy.
During this time most of the country will fall into depotism while the transfer of power occurs and no one is sure what is happening - the police force and the military will be used extensively to maintain order, however "hope" will be the main perpretator at the time either lack of causing people to go rampant, or lots of, causing people to quietly wait and see what happens.
All the while the leaders of the coup resit the political agendas back on the left side - "FOR THE PEOPLE" - instead of the right "FOR THE COUNTRY" - and they probably wont' get evreything right either, mostly because they will be in such a rush to get a new head set up so that the country can continue on it's bussiness.
During that time a lot of corporations will start paying attention as well, and they will be able to maintain their current economic status; mostly because they will buy out "brand new political agents" that have never had bribes in their life. A good soldier does not make a good politician.
However, a lot of things will change to the left - school, healthcare, a lot of stupid laws like the illegal drug tax act will be removed - and things will be realigned. Lots of things will be kept the same, mostly because of lack of time to really go into it.
How does this involve the Middle East?
As soon as the US stops being far right we drop Israel like a bad hat, the Muslims take over Israel, they have an internal revolution so that they band together as various Muslim Nations - and they become one of the strongest powers in the world. They won't invade or try anything, those people just want their land back and want to get rid of the Christians in Muslim land. Once they get that, they'll see all the other hundreds of problems they have and fix that for a while.

Oil prices are connected both to the war but also to operational costs of production. But this is true in places like Norway which has substantial oil reserves. It is expensive to build platforms capable of withstanding hurricane force winds, the personal dangers to the men, and other factors that eat money up quickly. As the resources become more difficult to obtain, the price will increase...with or without the fighting.
We have interfered in domestic issues in many countries...why don't we just stop. Let them sort it out by themselves...kill each other but not support either side and the UN should require the same commitment from all of its member nations. We fuel the war by our direct or indirect support....so how will it stop? Let them throw rocks at each other. Now really a boycott of Israeli goods....come on....what do they produce in quantity that the US uses? But since Wall Street and many corporations are owned by the Jewish, should we stop banking. We can't control money laundering by drug cartels...how could we do it with merchant bankers or commodities brokers.?

certain this relates ... Gen 16:11 And the angel of the LORD stated unto her, Behold, thou paintings with baby, and shalt undergo a son, and shalt call his call Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy sickness. Gen 16:12 And he will be a wild guy; his hand will be hostile to each guy, and each guy's hand hostile to him; and he shall live contained in the presence of all his brethren. Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac replaced into, are the youngsters of promise. Gal 4:29 yet as then he that replaced into born after the flesh persecuted him that replaced into born after the Spirit, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is now. Gal 4:30 nonetheless what saith the scripture? forged out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall no longer be inheritor with the son of the freewoman. Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are no longer little ones of the bondwoman, yet of the loose. this isn't a short or undemanding learn, yet there is a few of the conflict about the middle east. the different difficulty is the Mosque that is positioned the position the Jews favor to rebuild Solomons temple. This on my own could reason a warfare. Ishmael is the daddy of the Arabs and that's the wrestle, that's bible and it is going to in straightforward words end on the conflict of Armageddon.

We cannot stop. We must continue. If we stop the Muslims will have won.
What Israel is doing is not genocide. You've been listening to too many Muslims. If you count all the people who've been killed around the world in the last year, the Muslims will dominate in the killing part.
They are making a push to make the entire world into one government/religion under the Islamic flag. I'm tired of being killed piecemeal by Islamists nut-jobs. Israel is tired of the same thing. That's why you are witnessing a major operation to stop that killing.
I hope we continue until we have consigned the Muslim government/religion to the historical dustbins it is fated for.
If you don't believe what I'm saying, just read the person above me.
