Things do not evolve from other things; all of God's creations can adapt to their environments which can be referred to as evolving-but no, people did not evolve from apes if so why do apes remain?

Evolution does not have a predetermined goal, it's not driven by any kind of consciousness. We evolved into intelligent creatures (some of us at least) because our environment demanded it of us in order to survive. Depending on how the environment changes somewhere way down the road one of the animals we see today could become an ancestor to some other intelligent being.

Because of natural selection, only beneficial traits are kept. Having a brain requires a lot of energy because nerve cells never fully shut down while alive. For this reason, a brain would not be beneficial for many organisms, especially if they already are capable of getting food. Remember, the energy needed to maintain a brain could be more than what an animal can eat. Also, thinking isn't always necessary. Jellyfish survive easily, but they don't think at all.

Other animals did evolve. Fish became amphibians which became reptiles which became dinosaurs, birds, and mammals.

The first mammal was a rat-like rodent. It evolved into all other mammals, including dogs, cats, horses, elephants and dolphins.

Rodents also evolved into squirrels, then lemurs, monkeys and finally a walking primate that evolved into chimpanzees and humans.

Human and chimpanzee genes are 99% identical. You had gills and a tail as a fetus. Your ear bones came from bones of a fish's gills.

Actually , you originally evolved from bacteria in the ocean about 3,500 million years ago. We have their fossils.

And really, all life on earth is already in your family tree.

Evolution posists only that species will evolve to the point that they fit a niche in a biolobical system.

Evolution NEVER is so arrogant ans to assume that humans are the ultimate species, so your question is a product of your own ignorance.

Many animals could arrogantly look at humans and say, boy why haven't they learned to run at 60 mph, or breathe underwater, or .... etc. ..

Are you catching on with this, or am I wasting my keystrokes on someone who simply doesn't really CARE what evolution really posists, and you just want to attack it because of some kind of fundamentalist agenda?

Whats 'your' standard for intelligence? Orca's communicate and stay in social family unites for their entire lives. Koko the gorilla can speak 1000 words (www.koko.org).

What are you looking for...a bird to walk up and have a conversation with you by announcing he just evolved?

Uhhh...buddy...evolution is a "process" which occurs over huge tracts of time...your asking why evolution doesnt happen in this tiny space of time in which we dance and die but evolution never claimed to happen that way, with the exception of micro-organisms which do evolve in our lifetimes...why do you think we need new flu shots? The bug evolves, adapts...

We never know we evolved from all those animals so we are the lucky ones.

Many scientific studies have shown that higher intelligence functions are directly related to brain size and development. Other species have not caught up to us yet in these areas. They do not need such skiils as speech and philosophical thinking in order to repopulate and survive. Who knows, though, what the future holds?

I don't particularly want my cat telling me "Out! Out! Food! Food! Sun! Pillow!" though. :o)

Because evolution doesn't "want" to increase all animal's intelligence. Brain tissue is expensive to feed, and having too much of it is disadvantageous.

Evolution is true.

That did not, and will not, happen because evolution doesn't work like that. It's all about adapting to a changing environment. I could explain more, but it is way to complex to do here.

I'd suggest doing more research elsewhere.
