Evolution is important to both religion and science. It is important to religion since it appears to contradict common practice. It is important to science because we can discover origins, reasons for change, possible implications for our future. And for religion, the implications may be applied to life's lessons - and thus be written for the future - guides to living (religion).

Awesome Question!

Definately important to both, Evolution provides a scientific explanation as to why we are like this and why a monkey for example is the way it is. Religion on the other hand attributes these differences to the hand of God and for some religions (christianity) evolution is contrary to it's teachings.

To be honest, what I don't get is how Christians still can beleive Earth was made 6000 years ago. We have scientific tests (which cannot be wrong) which tell us the earth is over 4 billion years old. AND! Not to mention my devout christian flat mate told me to my face I was going to Hell because i didn't believe in Christianity.
How bloody ignorant!

Science. Evolution has greatly affected how scientists think about biology and ecolgy. Without the theory of evolution, there would be no way to predict the constantly changing way to make a flu vaccine. Besides, religion tries to downplay evolution.

God created evolution, Darwin discovered evolution, and if Scientist weren't so arrogant they could use science to prove Gods hand in creating evolution.
In the beginning God had the forethought to put a survival program in his creatures and beings so they can adapt to change.

I am not a monkeys Uncle

Science uses evolution to dispute religion; the only evolution that occcurs is called adaptation, but if humans evolved from apes then there would not be apes anymore.

there are over 10,000 religions in the world and they all say God created the world and all that are in it.well there is only one science and one evolution theory, the ratio is 10.000 to 2.Darwin's theory was on the right path, until it said man evolve from monkeys, nothing against monkeys, but where do monkeys evolve from?that is where we have to start thinking.someone or something must have created monkeys,or what ever monkeys evolved from.the Al'Quran and the Bible agree on this, the bavragita supports this, name it and they are in support.
