Miniature Pinscher's have great personalities. I have never known one to snap. They are a little hyper, but they are extremely loyal and loving.

It sounds like you are wanting a smaller type of dog.. a german pincher is smarter than a minature one and are easier to train. But all dogs can be trained youve just got to be more patient with some... If your thinking about a toy fox terrier, also check with a corgi dog, they have fox like features, they are pretty small in size and are very very smart and very obedient.. You will know the right dog when you see it, you will get an immediate connection, that the dog is meant for you, this is a wonderful and magical experience.

What type pf dog you get should depend on how active you want your dog to be. The breeds you mentioned are very high energy if you dont have time for that type of dog get a chihuahua who wont be so hard to keep up with.

Also, you won't need to read all of this, you can just take a simple test from this website(it doesn't work most of the times):

toy fox terrier

Weight: 3.5 - 7 lbs
Height: 8.5 to 11 inches
Character: The Toy Fox Terrier is small, agile, sturdy, and energetic. This breed is considered to be more responsive and more trainable than most terriers. They are extremely alert, hardy, and playful. They have a fearless nature and are not easily intimidated.
Temperament: A sensitive, loving, loyal, and affectionate breed, the Toy Fox Terrier is a spirited companion. Due to their stature they do best in a home with older considerate children. They thrive on attention and stimulation. This breed will get along with dogs, cats, and other household pets they have been raised with. They may have a tendency to display aggression to same gender dogs and will fight if provoked or threatened. The Toy Fox Terrier is exceedingly animated, comical, fun loving, and entertaining.
Care: Toy Fox Terriers are relatively maintenance free. An occasional brushing will suffice. Bathe or dry shampoo when necessary. It is important to provide regular dental hygiene. The nails must be kept short. The Toy Fox Terrier is prone to such health issues as allergies to beet, corn, and wheat, demodectic mange, patella luxation, Legg-Calve-Perthe disease, Von Willebrands disease, and congenital hypothyroidism with goiter. They do not do well in cold climates.
Training: A highly intelligent breed, the Toy Fox Terrier is quick to learn. Early socialization and obedience are recommended. They will not respond to harsh or heavy-handed methods. Training should be done with fairness, praise, firmness, reward, and consistency. This breed is exceptionally talented as a hearing dog for the deaf and as an assistant to the handicapped.
Activity: The Toy Fox Terrier benefits from regular daily exercise. They enjoy securely leashed walks, family play sessions, and a safely fenced area to run and romp in freely. They will do well in an apartment or condominium dwelling provided they are given sufficient exercise, attention, and stimulation.

german pincher

Weight: 25 - 35 lbs
Height: 17 - 20 inches
Character: German Pinschers are very loyal, alert, and playful. This breed does require proper socialization as a puppy; as they can be weary of strangers. They are energetic dogs and enjoy the company of their companions. This breed if properly socialized can do well around children and other pets.
Care: The strong, smooth, glossy coat requires little grooming. An occasional brushing to remove dead hair is all that is needed. This breed is an average shedder.
Training: Consistency is the key to training a German Pinscher. This intelligent breed is very eager to learn and if given the proper training, will thrive.
Activity: The German Pinscher requires a lot of exercise. They will enjoy running alongside you when you bicycle, playing in the yard, or a walk around the block. Walks per day should also be sufficient. This eager little breed is sure to keep your on your toes.
miniture pincher

Weight: 8-10 lbs
Height: 10-12.5 inches
Character: Miniature Pinschers are very loyal, alert, and playful. This breed does require proper socialization as a puppy, as they can be weary of strangers. They are peppy little dogs that enjoy the company of their companions. This breed if properly socialized can do well around children and other pets.
Temperament: This breed needs proper exercise, as they are very inquisitive and vigorous. This breed is recommended for households with only well-behaved children and would do well with other pets if properly socialized. Very headstrong, this dog requires consistency and firm handling otherwise may become somewhat of a tyrant.
Care: Miniature Pinschers have a very spirited personality, which requires energy and patience. A very low maintenance breed when it comes to grooming. Wipe down with a cloth daily to remove excess hair would be sufficient for this short haired and average shedding breed.
Training: As with many toy breeds, this dog can be rather difficult to house train. Consistency is the key to training this sometimes stubborn little dog. This intelligent breed is very eager to learn and if given the proper training, will thrive.
Activity: Definitely an energetic fellow that requires exercise. Good for apartment life, but a regular romp and play would quickly satisfy the curiosity of this breed. A few short walks per day should also be sufficient. This eager little breed is sure to keep your on your toes.

Miniature pinschers are wonderful dogs. Hyper, but loving and not snappish. They can play for hours nonstop.
