I really need help on this. I've been trying to convince them for about a year now. I'm in 8th grade and I want to go to this boarding highschool. It's not a financial matter... But I REALLY appreciate the help.

They don't want me to go because they don't want me out of the house.

Go to a couple local boarding school web sites and send the links to their e-mail addresses?

Write a letter explaining what you think the pros and cons of going to a boarding school so they aren't forced into answers in your time frame but their own.

Get a couple teachers that you have to write a letter about the pros/cons of boarding schools?

If it is truly not a financial issue, and it may be even if they haven't been totally up front with you about it, then have you got a plan or goal in mind by attending this school? My son doesn't go to a boarding school, but he attends a high school that has a special Agricultural Science program. Costs extra time and money, but we support it because he has a goal and purpose for attending and has worked hard to maintain his grades. Would you be willing to set a performance goal, say keeping a certain average or you return to your public high school? Parents want the best for their children. You need to show your parents that this holds some specific benefit and its not just a whimsical way for you to spend their money.

well, i am going to a boarding high school and my parents let me go. It is a hard process, but tell them this:

Sit them down, and make sure to really act serious on this, persuade them in anyway you can. Show them that u are responsible enough.

- tell them that opportunities like this rarely come about. also that going to a prep boarding school will open doors to the best universities.

- hear their side of the story too.

- Good luck.. and just know that if you can't go this year.. try applying for next year. boarding school isn't for every one. But you seem determined enough...and i really Hope you can make it!!!
Best of luck!:)....try to get some advice from your teachers or counselors...thy are always good help too.

Tell them that the opportunities are boarding school are so much better than staying home. You learn to be self relient and responsible and most boarding schools will offer you a far better education than any public school. Also the sports at a boarding school are very competitive and lastly tell them colleges look higher upon those that went to boarding school

Okay... well I could suggest being a really bad kid so they think that you NEED to go to bording school.

If you don't want to do that, then just tell them all of your reasons, and say that it would be a better education so it would be easier to make something of yourself when you get older.
That might help.

It would have helped me if you would have told us why your parents didn't want you to go... so maybe you should add that in your 'additional details' or something.

Good luck!!

First of all, have the courage to tell you parents that you want to go to a boarding school. Secondly, lay down your good reasons. Finally, listen to what they will say! ok?
