It hasn't changed. Judaism started with Abraham. God told Abraham, walk before me and be "tamid" (worthy, perfect, blameless, whole). God told Abraham to circumcise his male children on the eigth day. God wanted Abraham to teach his children to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is just and right. Judaism still follows these teachings.

I think the answer you are looking for is this... Abraham was tested by asking if he would sacrifice his son... some version make it issac some ismail then at the last moment God stopped Abraham and gave him a lamb insted. This story signifys the ending to human sacrifice to appease God... then moses transformed the hebrew peoples customs even further with the 10 commandments.... modern day Jewish faith is based on the Talmud and the old testement... the talmud lays down even more rules as to what to do if you are a faithful jew.

It is true that Old Testament believers lived before Jesus' actual historical sacrifice, yet the Bible suggests that they experienced acceptance and fellowship with God on the basis of their faith in what God had revealed of Himself and His ways. Genesis 15:6 says concerning Abraham: "Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness."
The Old Testament makes clear that God taught the people to approach Him by way of animal sacrifices. The Mosaic law required that animals be offered as sacrifices and that the priests sprinkle the blood upon the designated altar. Those sacrifices foreshadowed and symbolized the anticipated shedding of blood and sacrificial death of Jesus, the Messiah. Christ's eventual sacrifice of His own life as the "lamb without blemish" was the fulfillment of the sacrificial offerings to atone for sin. The Old Testament book of Leviticus and the New Testament book of Hebrews provide an excellent harmony of truth on this subject. Both Old Testament believers and New Testament believers were saved by grace through faith on the basis of the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament looked forward to the sacrifice of Christ, while the New Testament looks back on that same sacrifice.
Throughout the history of this world, countless people have discovered that God alone, through Jesus Christ, can meet the deepest longings and needs of the human heart. This is possible because Jesus was fully God and fully man. He died to pay the death penalty for our sin, and He was raised from the dead by the power of God. He is alive today, and He wants to be in your life right now. I encourage you to commit your life to Christ. It is the most important step you will ever take.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
It is humans that have changed. God had to change is covenant with men to save them because they broke the first one and departed from it. God is always trying to save man and everything He did in the past was to lead up to the death of son Jesus. God's way to salvation was always through his son Jesus. They did it before through the sacrifice of animals looking forward to the cross which would eventually bear the real sacrifice needed which was Jesus. The Bible clearly says that the blood of animals cannot forgive sins only the blood of Jesus. We today are saved by looking back to the cross. Everything has to deal with the sacrifice of God's son Jesus and Jesus himself said that no man come to the father but by Him, I am the way the truth and the light.

Abraham believed-
Jews were under the law-
Christians believe -
Even though the Jews were under the law, they still had to believe that God would forgive them as long as they observed His sacrificial system.
