hay i have really dark brown hair...and i wantd to make it lighter...can i use lemon on my hair or will it turn it orange?

it'll get really brassy

Brassy and orange, I've done it before. And if you go swimming in a pool it will get a green tinge to it. Get a highlighting kit or get it done by hairdresser.

it will make it a little lighter, but it will also dry it out. you might want to get a good conditioner first, or maybe even try "sun in"... that didn't make my hair orange

I have in fact used lemon on my hair and I am a brunette. It will in fact lighten it, but your right-- you will have an orangish tint.

when i was younger i did put lemon juice in my brinette hair and i stayed outside all day-my hair had major highlights in it after. it was pretty.

i think vinager can make your hair brighter...or something.
