I agree with a couple other wise people here....the little ones enjoy unwrapping more than anything at that age. Go to a store that sells big sets of playthings, like cars, building blocks or whatever he's into. When you get it home, take the items out of the original package and wrap them separately. Or go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of little things to wrap. Be careful with the dollar store toys though that they don't have little parts that come off or are dangerous. In other words, make sure they are age-appropriate.

Chances are, what ever you get him, he'll spend more time playing with the wrapping paper and the cardboard box it came in.
Have a look in Early Learning Centres or woolworths, or see their websites for inspiration.
Good luck, and happy birthday to your little boy!

mine will be turning 2 soon, and they are so interested in play cars. They love to turn the wheels...they really like the ones that make noise.

Books a comfy chair and little shelf or bucket to put them in. My first leap pad. A kitchenette, set of tools, or play cleaning supplies. They love to copy mom and dad. Also instruments.

Anything that is age appropriate, playschool cars are what my little guy is into, they're soft, and alittle bigger so it's easier to grab..but let him pick out something, and maybe you can add a surprise to go with it that he doesn't know about..
