It's Sort Of Like Driving In A Car With God, and Telling Him, "Here You Take Over, I'll Just Ride Beside You, Wherever You May Take Me".

What you said is precisly what I think about it.
stop tring to make things happen yourself and let God be in control.
Here is a poem little poem that explains it.
~ Let Go and Let God ~
As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend;
I brought my broken dreams to God,
because He is my Friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
with ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back again
and cried, "How can You be so slow?"
"My Child" He said, "What could I do,
you never did let go!"

"LET GO AND LET GOD!"
This to me means that you are letting God fight your battles. God said cast all your cares upon him for he careth for you and if you are holding on to your own problems than basically you are telling God that you don't trust him. When don't trust someone you don't give them your all. Situations happen, problems will occurr but God will deliver us out of all of them if you totally lean and depend on him. For he may not come when you want him but he always on time.
This also could mean that you are holding on to past issues, past problems. Those problems can't be fixed tell you give them to God and let him deliver you from them. Any situation that you are holding on to that is not like him it will only bring you down. You have to turn everything over to Jesus for he cares for you.
Let Go and let God can also mean that God is our Banner, he is our rereward. He will grant us whatever our heart desires as long as we obey him.

To me it means that I need to stop trying to hold on to everything, whether that be pain, hatred, fear or dissapointment and that I shoud let God resove all of my problems. It also tells me that the sooner I let go of the things in my life that distract me from God's will, the sooner God can begin to work in my life.

To me it means to quiet my anxious mind and let the mind of Christ fill me. To be present to each situation and act on the guidance that comes from Him, instead of creating all kinds of imaginings about it...to respond to the Moment from a place of freshness and innocence, instead of past experiences.

Instead of trying to handle a problem myself, I should take my hands off of it and rely on Gods guidance to get me through it.

"To let go" means that I stop trying to be my own master of every detail of my or other's lives, especially the ones I can't control. I think "to let God" would be better stated to trust or entrust yourself body, mind, and soul, relationships, job, and possesions to Jesus Christ and His will as revealed in the Bible, seeking to live for His glory and empowered by His grace.

It means something similar to me, although I'm an atheist.
It simply means stop worrying, stop dwelling on things that are out of your control.

It means to just let go of your worries, fears, anger, etc. and let God handle it and have faith that you are divinely guided through your life.

I think you've got it. We all struggle for control in our lives, and usually we manage to screw it up somehow. But when we let God have the control, well, He really does seem to know His stuff!!
