I felt the same way, but it worked at better for him.
He's more out going, makes friends easyer, and is much smarter then the children in his class that didn't go to daycare.
Now during the summer he wants to go back so that he can visit with old friends.

I am sorry that you're feeling upset! But, yes, there are social benefits for your child and assuming it's a wonderful day care setting, it will enrich your child's life. They will do arts and craft projects each day that you might not do at home, and have enrichment like singing, dancing. He/she will make lots of new buddies and you might get to know and like some of the other parents, too.
Your child will learn a lot from the other children- some things that are wonderful and maybe some bad habits, too, but it is all a part of being in a toddler group.
Best wishes! and ask if you need tips on finding good day care

Both of my children attended daycare from age 2. They are now ages 19 and 23. It did not hurt them a bit. In fact, I think it taught them social skills and responsibility.

One of the biggest benefits is that he/she will have the opportunity to socialize with other children of their age for extended periods of time. This will also help prepare them for when they are ready to go to school in a few years. They will be less impacted by mommy not being their for them. All of this being said I personally still think that it is better for your child to be with you as a stay at home mom. If there is anyway you can find to continue to make this happen I would do so.

I was upset when I sent my 10 month old to Day Care.....but what can you do if you have to work?? Yes, there are benefits. One of them is that your child's social skills will learned before they reach school age. Secondly, they will be exposed to every germ known to man before they go to scholl also so they'll never miss any time. Plus, they have pre-school programs that give them a little head start on book learning.

I don't think there are any benefits to daycare at all.
But I am sure you are a good mother. If you spend time with your child at home and make sure he or she knows your values, it should be fine.
It isn't the end of the world and we do what we have to do.

You leave a lot of questions. If you HAVE to take him to day care, then make the best of it. Not for you, for HIM.
I was in the Navy with a baby. I HAD to take him to day care at 6 months. I didn't like it one bit, but I laughed and smiled and told him what a great time he was going to have. He was going to meet new friends. I said I was so happy that I had a great job, and got to see MY friends.
When we got back together at night, I played with him, and loved on him for a while before dinner. I gave him his bath and talked to him about what was going on at "school." Even at 6 months old, I read to him EVERY night, and we had a very nice routine. He eventually knew I was making the best of it. He knew I loved him and was with him as much as I could be. He knew that he had nice toys and a nice house, because I was ABLE to work. He was helping me!
If you don't HAVE to put him in day care, there are still benefits form having him there a while every day. They are at a very social age, and need to learn how to play with others, early. They need to understand that mommy is not joined at his hip-that HE is separate from her and she is separate from him and this is a GOOD thing. They need to figure out that someone else can care about them, and YOU need to know that, too.
This is normal stuff.
It is also normal for you to feel afraid or nervous, especially if he is your first or only child. You may start feeling like it is time to have another one, since having a baby dependent on you is a great feeling, and a hard thing at the same time.
One thing that helped my son at 2, was to give him something of mine to keep during the day. Since they have no concept of time--if you leave, they think you are leaving forever- it helps them to SEE that you are coming back to get your scarf or gloves or book. Anything. I had a bright scarf that I tied around his waist. He loved it.
Also, don't spoil him when he is with you since you feel guilty. It will do him NO GOOD. That is your problem, not his.
Another thing, he may revert back to not being potty-broken for a while. It is normal. Don't punish him. It is part of learning to cope with change.
Good luck, hon.

NO.................someone in your family must be able to watch the little tyke.
Day care is germ heaven and an economic drain on YOU as well as the time wasted in daycare.
Kids should be with their parent(s), family until the age of 3 for solid bonding then pre-school for social skills building outside the home/play dates.

I guess if you have to you have to and lil person will have to adapt no matter what. But for me nope couldn't do it, not at 2. At that age they still quite attached to mum and that's completely natural, a wonderful thing. Closer to 3yrs I believe is better for child and mum. But we all have different lives, circumstances, and commitments.

could it somewhat is conceivable so you might take a easy load for a million year? this could enable you to contiue working on your degree yet in addition spend a sprint greater time with your new child. i be conscious of you do no longer decide directly to hearken to this, yet my plan could contain you going finished-time to college right here year. you need to locate a solid day care and your husband could decide directly to be as lively as he can with your new child. solid success... you're in a problematic spot, yet in spite of you come back to a decision each and every thing would be ok.
