Does the first amendment protect the rights of those Christian churches to marry people of the same gender?

Does this fact alone coupled with the first amendment completely decimiate the anti-gay marriage movement in America?

I ask again, has the sky falled in any nation or state where there is same sex marriage (or civil union)?

If the sky hasn't fallen, why hasn't it fallen?

In Genesis chapter 18 the sky reigned with fire from the God because of the wickedness of Sodom.
Did that really happen, or is that just a made up lie to try and control people?

Is this really about love of God and love of the Bible and love of a passage that says homosexuals won't get into heaven (lev 18:22, romans 1:24-27, 1 corinthians 6:9, rev 15:22); or is it about bigotry?

Does anything embarras the religious right more than this? Do they feel any shame?

I never thought about it that way. If my church wants to marry two men in the eyes of their "god", then the government is infringing on religious freedom to interfere with that.


.... ahhh... it's all about christians trying to shove one religion, THEIR religion, down the throat of the nation. They completely disrespect the fact that this country was founded on religious freedom.

But I doubt that they feel any shame or embarassment about it.






Christians have declared themselves the judge over all other people and religions, so they don't realize the stupidity inherent in telling a Wiccan that they can't marry two people because of something that the christian bible says.

There are many churches, both Christian and Jewish, and non-denominational that will marry same-sex couples.

Marriage should be considered a religious, or faith-based choice, and churches must retain the right to control their own policies.

However, FEDERAL marriage is actually a civil contract, not a religious rite. The concept of federal marriage, which determines how a couple are treated by the state (a secular organization) should be open to all couples. It is not up to the dominant religion (Christianity) to determine how the state deals with couples in a civil contract. This is what separation of church and state is all about.

Unfortunately, these two different concepts have been confused by the current controversy. The correct approach would be to delete the term MARRIAGE from all state and federal law, and substitute CIVIL UNION. All citizens would then be allowed to enter into a state/federally recognized union, but the term marriage would be reserved to religious organizations, and they would continue to determine the rules for who could be married in their organization.

I always figure that a church or other house of worship doesn't have to marry any couple, for any reason. But my mom's a lapsed Pentecostal engaged to a lapsed Catholic; neither church will marry them because of it being a "mixed" marriage. Their marriage will be legal. My brother and his wife are "apatheists." Their marriage is legal. I'm a Pagan married to an atheist; if one of us was male, our marriage would be legal. There are many marriages that are not at all what the Christian Nationalists would call "godly" and would not be officiated at any church. Why are same-gender ones so different? And if we're hell-bound, why can't we just go to hell in peace, and not have the Christian Nationalists try to make hell on earth for us, too?

The Church can deny to marry any couple.

Your line of questioning is repetitive in nature and self conflicting.

Political careers have been destroyed or lost due to the fact of pro gay marriage.
That could be deemed as the sky falling in on them.
When you lose all credibility on one issue, yes.
The passages you quote here are the rules God set forth.
How can that be bigotry? It says they themselves made that choice, just like you can. however you will be judged on your decisions by God.

I am sure they feel no shame. Although they should, the sky is not falling and will not fall. Homosexuality is no sin. Live and let live. Everyone has the right to marry the person they love.

False so false the government made sure that the only people marry are man and woman. Not gays. And if a homosexual repents and becomes straight then they go to Heaven got that?

This is true. there are many misguided pastors. There are pastors who follow the money trail. This pastor is neither misguided nor does he follow the money trail.

The only opinion that matter at all id God's and he called all an abomination. That settles it no matter how many amendments you make to change the constitution.
