Well, my dear Trini, that depends on what you want to do.
Lets's see. Emperor Charles V, whose maternal language was German because he was from Austria, said that he used German to talk to the soldiers, French to make love to the ladies, and Spanish to talk with God.
Therefore, better for what ?
I would say that German is good for sciences, French for poetry, and Spanish to make love

No language is better than the others in absolute terms. Each one has its pros and cons. It depends on what you want it for. Now, if you're thinking of learning a language, just for fun, I'd stay start with German. It's the most similar one to English (of the three you've mentioned). Or else, pick Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. Those are not going to represent much trouble for you, as an English speaker.

I would have to say German. I go for backbone! Yes, they have has some crazy leaders (very crazy) in the past but that country always bounces back. French, well they are gut-less cowards that always need other countries to bail them out~~~~why associate! Spanish? Spanish speaking countries don't tend to be, lets say~~~~all that evolved! Sorry, I don't know how else to say it. Swinging outside of that question, I still prefer English, even though I am fluent in 4 languages!

What are you trying to achieve with this question? I guess if you lived in Germany, German would be better. If you are asking which language is better to learn? than you have to think of the reason you want to learn another language. If you live or travel where there are a lot of Spanish people than it would make sense to learn Spanish.

It depends on how often you think you'll be using any of those languages. If you're in the USA, Spanish is better. If you're going to be living in Germany, German is the obvious best choice.

I personally prefer French. French is the most widely spoken language in the world, second to only English.
(It's also fairly easy to learn!)

Now there's a really silly question. Spanish is spoken in central and south America (except for Brazil) so it's probably worth learning. French is also spoken in parts of Africa, and, of course in parts of Canada. German is spoken in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - not much use unless you're in the tourist trade. (German speaking tourists get everywhere) If you're really into opera, then German is a must.

I asked this question because I am going to start to learn a new language and the overall opinion was Spanish as it an up and coming language, great for use in Europe, America and on business.

Have enrolled in a Spanish class at the local college, brought the tapes etc.

Best of luck with whichever one you choose.

Spanish has its roots from the romance languages and when spoken it has a nice sound to it. When German is spoken it sounds more like grunts than words! French has an obnoxious ring to it and it often reminds me of the cartoon skunk Pepe Le Pew!

So when you put it all in the mix I pick spanish because it sounds a whole lot more appealing.

German!!!! That way whenever you talk, and no matter what you say you can sound mad!!! hehe No but really I would go with French or German.......ANYTHING but Spanish!!! I absolutely hated learning Spanish!!! And it's too common which makes it less fun to know. They say it's a good thing to know in the United States which I find wrong, for that reason I don't want to learn it!

Good luck!

ps, Polish is awesome!
