According to the Christian faith: Once you ask forgiveness the first time - its for all your sins in your whole life.
How many sins had you committed when Jesus died for them?
None.
So he died for them all.
Asking forgiveness may be good for your heart...... but the Christain faith specifics you're already forgiven.

Jesus died for all sins past present and future. You should still ask forgiveness daily to remind your self just like someone else on here said. But if you don't ask for forgiveness one day it doesn't mean your going to hell if Jesus came back that day.

It was for past sins and present sins and future sins that we commit. There is only one perfect that walked in the flesh and that is Jesus. When we become born again we tend to not want to do the things the world sees as good but the things the Word sees as good. So we tend to do less sin, the old chiche' we are all human. I ask forgiveness daily. I ask the Lord to guide my thoughts and actions.

I do not believe this b-cause it would not be fair 4 someone 2 b good and go 2 heaven and 4 someone to b bad and go to heaven 2....

It was for past, present, and future sins. His sacrifice and our acceptance of Him gives us the right to come to His Cross when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin at any time.
Then fellowship with him will be restored, tho relationship as God's child was never broken by that sin

Robin did good! Also, just because our sins are forgiven and we can continue to ask for forgiveness, that doesn't mean we should do what ever we want. We also need to turn from our sin.

Jesus' atonement was infinite and eternal - so yeah, it was for all of time and space that ever have, does now, or ever will exist.
But, keep in mind the atonement is what makes it possible for us to repent, so we should be asking for forgiveness on a daily basis. That's an important part of how we accept and apply the atonement to ourselves.
Best Wishes

Well, i'd say many people think different variations. up til now, i was taught that we had to continually ask forgiveness, we are always sinful, bad, we Need to feel guilty, that's the only way, blah blah.. but that didn't make *sense* to me in terms of being able to live a Christian life and be Joyful at the same time.
recently i went to bible study, and it Completely opened my eyes. Romans 5-8; written by Paul, who was the son of a Pharisee, and was a tax collector. after he accepted Jesus as the Messiah, he wrote many books in the New Testament. Anyways, these 3 chapters say (at least how i interpret it!)
-that all the bad things we've experienced, to let it help us become better people in the future.
-once we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, we learn that we are Justified --> Not guilty. of past, present or future sins. clean slate.
-once we are Justified, and truly understand and accept and rejoice in Jesus' sacrifice, we achieve peace under God's Grace.
Forever.
now remember, we are human, and therefore will make mistakes, sin again, have bad thoughts, yada yada yada. God knows this. Jesus died FOR THIS PURPOSE. the Good News is that we are not Punished anymore. we are Dead to Sin because Jesus' blood covers us. that means, to me, that no matter what we do, no matter when we fall, because of God's Grace I CAN STILL CHOOSE THE RIGHT THING. i am free of all punishment.
that knowledge opened my eyes, and has now made me WANT to do the right thing. before, i thought i had to do the right thing, and it would be so much pressure, so much heartache, so much negativity because i could never measure up to my expectations, and i thought were God's expectations. but, thru Romans 5-8, i realize now that there are no expectations. now that I have accepted Jesus Christ, i am saved, and no matter what i do, i won't be punished. because i truly appreciate that, it makes me HAPPY, i am Glad to keep doing my best, pushing forward, making myself a Better, Positive, Happy, Joyful person in this world before i die. it has given me so much joy to realize that i am forgiven, no matter what i do. i don't feel the need to sin so much and still be forgiven..that's not the purpose of my life.
i attune this to a family... if u have a son or daughter or sister or brother, and they make mistakes, get into drugs, make bad decisions.... u still love them. even if u don't understand what they are doing, u STILL LOVE THEM. simple as that. and that is Jesus' sacrifice... so that we can learn to still love ourselves, and love our God, even if we make mistakes. we don't have to be ASHAMED anymore. so if u truly accept that, you will open ur eyes to a whole new opportunity of Righteousness...not because u Have to in order to look good in front of others, or u have to do this or that or u wont' go to heaven (punishment)...but because you CHOOSE to. :)

Why should God be so unfair to allow Jesus suffer for sins committed by others? Are we enjoying that & comitting more sins?

Jesus died being Omnipotent and omnipresent... He knew who and what He was dying for and why, I can assure you. But... isn't it a good thing to recognize sin and repent? The blessing of God in His forgivness and Mercy is there for everyone... TO ACCEPT.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
"Chose ye today... life or death, cursing or blessing."
the operative word being CHOSE!
"To whom much is given, much is required."
Once we are aware... it is foolish to spit in the face of such a gift.
