I was in Virginia once and loved that accent. In Texas I could barely understand a word, and vice versa. In southern California they sound as if they've fallen asleep, which is quite charming. To me the most melodious American accents are from around Charleston and Savannah. I knew an African-American lady from round there who had the sweetest voice. And the easiest to understand is New York because we keep hearing it in films. I speak standard British English, by the way.

I'm from Arizona, I don't think I have an accent, but then again, I wouldn't know. Yeah, I'm not very fond of American accents, scratch that - I do like a southern accent.

Some I do. I hail from Florida, so I hear a number of accents ranging from all over America in the summer when the Yankees come down from New England. The real nasally accents annoy me, but the "normal" accents you hear on the news and the Southern Belle/Texan accent are great. Hick accents are not my cup-o-tea, and neither are Wisconsin/Minnesota accents. Y'know, the one that sounds like a duck? My ex was born in Wisconsin and raised in Minnesota, so he got the brunt of the accent. It's hard to describe except by saying that it truly sounds like a quacking duck...kind of like the Aflac duck.

The Georgia and South Carolina accents are amazing! ^_^

***Note: Not all Minnesotans/Wisconsonites sound like his, I know. Just my ex, but his accent was absolutely grating! Also, southerners refer to northerners as Yankees--at least my family does.

Yeah, I love them! Granted, I live in Missouri and am a pureblood American. But my accent is a mix between enherited Old Southern and Midwestern from where I grew up. It is a bit odd, but most people comment me on it cause it's a lot different. I always like imatating the New Yorker accent...Yankees talk so weird sometimes! :D

Yes...I especially like Irish, Scottish, British accents, as far as accents outside the US go.

Soft southern accents, New England accents, Cajun,

Not New York or hillbilly. Otherwise I am ignorant of the sounds of different areas.

No. Sorry. As a foreign learner of English, I chose the British accent (including sounds, spelling and structures).

It depends, there's alot of diffirences, depends where the person(His/Her's surroundings)was raised can make a very big difference on how he/she talks or speaks out words.

I just don't consider English a beautiful language. I'd consider British Accents nice but not my cake.

It isn't relevant whether anyone likes, or dislikes, the way anyone pronounces their language. I personally enjoy most accents, including American ones.
