the usual reasons are that as we grow up, we start defining our own selves. our moms naturally (and b/c they have been raising us for x-amount of yrs) think they know what is best for us.
and i a have learned that when daughters start becoming women themselves, it becomes very hard for two women to live in the same household--two women, two different outlooks on life from two different perspectives on how things should be done, two women living from the experience they have gained in their short or longer lives--- it can get pretty hairy.
i would add this, as my mom passed away a couple of years ago i know the pain of losing her. and she was a hell-cat of a woman, but i truly miss her and when i am really sad about her being gone, i feel regret for fighting with her, for thinking she did not know a damn thing about me or life. if i could go back, i would try to see things thru her eyes and maybe then i could at least understand the hardships she went thru that made her the woman she is, and maybe i could share the hardships i go thru so she could understand the woman i have become.
as with all relationships, communication is very key to a healthy alliance between two ppl.
love you mom with all your heart, she just may know a few things you don't =)

We don't do things just to piss you off. You think we don't know anything, and you have all the answers? We do things to spare you the pains that we went through. Moms are only grown up versions of their daughters. We're all the same inside. Try keeping that in mind next time you want a trip to the mall LOL

It is not that mother's and father's actually intend on literally trying to get on there childrens nerves, it is just that there love for there child/children is so unbelievably strong that if they feel or know that there child/children are getting into/already in/or thinking about getting into something that could cause them any hurt/danger/heartache etc (anything that is not good for that matter) then any parent will have a good old go at you, In the childs case they think that there parent's are just plain haveing a go at them and trying so hard just to annoy them and as you put it '' Piss them off '' the child/children doesnt actually stop to think that if it was the other way around and they were the parent and the parent's were the children and they were in such a situation how do you think that you would TRUTHFULLY react and feel about what was/is going to happen??? To be honest you will most probably read this and think oh my god what a load of old **** but untill you have a child of your own you will never understand what a parent feels or goes through when they feel/think that a child is in danger/going to get hurt etc etc etc, it is something that you just can not explain and as i said before you seriously will not understand it until you have had your own child and he/she puts you through the same kind of thing/s that you put your parents through. Its kind of like the parents embarrasing you when for example maybe a boyfriend comes around and your mother/father gets your baby photo's out and starts to show them to your new love/fling etc you feel totally embarassed and wish that the groung would swallow you up, or that you could turn back time and either just not bother going there or stash the photos of you,(the embarassing ones anyway!) They do not see it as though they are embarassing you they see it as though they are so proud they just want to show you off at every opportunity even though you may now be a grown woman. But seriuosly hun you really will not understand properly until you have had a child of your own and maybe they put you in such a situation etc. Have you also spoken to your mum about the situatuion properly explaining what and why you are doing what you are doing and try to reassure her that she has absolutely nothing to worry about, and that you will totally fine.(It will most deffinatly NOT make her stop worrying about you,but it MIGHT help her to understand why you want to do whatever it is you are going/have done.). xxxxx

why ...relatively simple....because we have done been there and done that !!!! we have encountered 99.99% of every situation you have been thru...so when we see that you are doing something that could be done or handled differently we tell you...but the daughters ...of course...feel that we...the mom...just dont know what the hell we are talking about. the daughters feel we are just ruining their lives...but all we are really doing is trying to prevent you from making the same mistake or doing something that is detrimental for your future...
its not until you, the daughters ...get to an age ..usually around 21 or so ...when u finally sit back and realize..if only i had listened to mom ...
lol so ...ask your mom..why she isnt letting you do something .in a calm manner ...you could be surprised.
good luck

For many different reasons. Sometimes i'ts because they are jeoulous of your life. Maybe your doing things that she wish she could have done at your age and wasn't able to for whatever reason. And sometimes it's because she loves you so much that she doesn't want to see you make the same mistakes she made. Mother's only want the best for their daughters and sometimes pissing you off is the only way they know how to get your attention or to get you to be the best that you can be. Just remember someday you'l be pissing off your daughter as well - It's a beautiful cycle.

We've lived a lot longer than you have, learned a lot more than you have, and just want daughters to take our word that we know what's best. We are usually right. Sorry, if that's not what you wanted to hear.
Moms love kids and care about their kids so much that we make our kids mad. If we didn't care, we'd let you do whatever you wanted.

For the same reasons daughters make their moms mad, and husbands and wives make each other mad and siblings, coworkers, bosses, friends, salespeople, movie-stars, politicians and strangers make us mad. It's just that the more time you spend with a person, the more chances they have :)
