What I can tell you is this: You cannot obtain these records for free. You simply cannot. For every service provided online, there is typically either a one time cost, or a fee you pay every single month. Some services are better than others.

Some more expensive, some less. In my line of work, I am signed up for a service where I am billed monthly. You can trace a number on sites like http://phonex.us where you insert a cell phone number to lookup, the same way you google phrases on the internet.

These websites deliver basic information for free if that particular number has been imputed to any database system. So, if anything found you'll get basic information, which includes the city, state or country and carrier of that number. Or else it will tell you, 'nothing found in a database'.

If you wish to get further information including name and address, then you will have to pay a small fee.

Do what my mom does...Google the telephone number. However, if it's a cell phone number, you probably won't be able to find the caller no matter what.
