Why worship? Why do you need to hear constant flatteries from lesser beings who are beneath you? What do you get out of this? Is worship just another form of a heavenly "high" that you get off to, some sort of divine masturbation? Well, I suppose your bible does answer this question for me, at least indirectly: it says that you are a jealous God (Exodus 20:5), meaning you long for ceaseless attention and adoration; but jealousy is a bad thing, isn't it?

We don't hear flatteries from lesser beings because they are not rational. You can't get a dog to speak in coherent sentences, but you can get it to show its love for you in the way it wags its tail or asks to be pet. But I'm off the point. God doesn't NEED anything. He is perfect. Our worship of Him is a gift. It does not make Him better or stronger in any way, but it does make us better and stronger.

He does not need praise, we need to praise him. It is more for our sakes. If someone gave you two million dollars out of nowhere, would you thank them? It not only makes them feel better, but the fact that you said thank you helps you as well. We as humans can easily be swayed, and if we do not take 5 minutes out of the day to appreciate what god has given us, otherwise, we become unappreciative and selfish. We continue asking for more and disregard good things we have been granted. Praying in a way, maintain our humanity and appreciate what we already have.

Cause whaen you praise God it keeps the Devil away. We give God praise for the things he has done for us for the things he has given us and blessed us with. God is not asking for alot just for us to praise him and give thanks. You know sence he sent his 1 and only son to die on a cross for you and me. Have you ever seen the Passion of the Christ? well it was ten times worse than that in real life. Jesus died on the cross so that we can get into Heaven, And all we have to do is go to Jesus and repent and ask Jesus to come into our hearts and change our lives. That's it!

I worship my God because he Created me, He loves me, because He saved me, because He's powerful, omniscient, omnipresent, and because of everything that He is. I worship Him because He's the only one worthy of it. Why does He want my worship? Because He wants me. He certainly doesn't need it.

Actually, He didn't need them. It was the fault of those people worshipping Him; they're so obssessed that they don't know the sense of what they're doing.

God doesn't NEED praise, we are the ones who need to praise. God deserves praise because he is God, we need to praise him to remind us that he is GOD and worthy of praise.
