My name is Ashley and I HATE it. I've met so many other Ashley's that it just doesn't seem very special.

I know at least 3 people in my family have the name Ashley!
It is a lovely name, but if it were me, I would choose a more unique name, like for example, my daughter's name is Kalynn
I also like the name Kaylie
Abigail, which is my other daughter's name
Hailey
Hannah
Rebecka
Jenna
Belle
Elana
Mae/May
and my personal favorite, my best friend's daughter's name and have never heard it anywhere else in the world:
Tatiana
Hope you have fun choosing a name! God bless you and your baby!

It is a very pretty name. You don't know me, but here is my advice: don't name your little baby Ashley. I like "A" names for girls too, but there are plenty more names out there.
Good luck with your baby no matter what you name her. Isn't this an exciting time of your life?

According to it...ashley is the tenth most common first name for a girl. Been way up on the list for quite some time. Hope that helps.

EVERYONE is named Ashley...it's a perfectly nice name but soooo common. Why don't you try for something a bit more original?

i seriously know more than fifteen people named ashley. and that's on a personal, first and last name met their parents basis. i've known dozens of girls with that name. if it was a boy, that would be sort of historical and cool, though. (if not a little fey)

If this is any help, Ashley is English for "from the ash tree field". Try www.babynames.com for baby names and their meanings.
