It comes in the way they behave around others. First of all,you have to know what those fruits are. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.-Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) If the people you are around exhibit these "fruits" toward others, you will know they are trying to follow Christ's example!

If one is connected to the Vine, the Life of the Vine will flow in and through them. It will produce the FRUIT of the Vine in due season. How will you observe it? It will have a special fragrance, a kindness and caring that is not common; it will have a wisdom and sense about things that is empathic and sensitive; it will encourage you, even just to be in it's presence without a word; it will listen to you, and not seek to interrupt with its own thoughts and agenda...so many things. It is the Fruit of Christ, and to watch Him on the pages of the Bible, is to see what the fruit really looks like, and how it will look on anyone who is living in the Vine.

By how they live their lives and carry themselves among the world. The Scripture says, As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Basically, garbage in, garbage out. Fruits of the Spirit in, fruits of the Spirit out! Their attitude, speech, charity and actions will be noticed not for "lipservice as menpleasers", but will be noticed for the genuineness of their love for God and their fellow man.

By observing their behavior. The fruits of the Spirit are attitudes, and you have to look at people's behavior to gauge their attitude.
