No. Do Not buy the extended warranty. Take your $2,000.00 and put it in a 3yr CD at about 5%. Your Factory warranty is good for the first 3 years. At the end of 3 years, your CD will be worth about 2300. Then take that money and put it into a Money Market Checking account to be used Exclusively for repairs that the warranty would have covered. I bet that at the end of year 6 there is still a pile of money in that account! That is exactly what the insurance/warranty company is counting on!
Self-insure against car repairs...but this only works if you actually put the Money aside. If you are going to add the money into a car loan(Stupid thing to do) then forget the warranty and have the proposed increased payment amount drafted from your checking acc. into a savings account every month to build up the reserve.
btw...Strange looking vehicle...but overall they seem to be popular and reliable.

NO! Never buy the extended warranty. Let's look at it this way. They are gambling that nothing that will go wrong and that they will not have to do anything. If they continually lost the gamble they would stop offering the warranty. Since they obviously make millions off of the warranty it must mean that it is not necessary. Keep your $2000 and go on a cruise or something.

It's like any other ext warranty. If you'll be able to put out the money for whatever may go wrong, then don't buy it. But if you wont have the, say $3000 for a transmission, then buy it, BUT...
you don't have to pay the full price. The dealership makes a lot on ext. warranties. We just purchased a Nissan for our daughter and got the ext warr. for $400 less than the normal price. And, if you buy it, make sure you get the actual Nissan warranty. You have your choice of miles and deductibles.

You have to call for approval. Most time aftermarket extended warranty does not cover mounts. The Nissan Security plus gold plan does. Also check the rear rubber on the lower Control arms too. I have replaced the struts front and rear motor mounts and then heard the lower control arms. So make sure your Murano gets a complete inspection. I will also warn you that that rear mount top bolt is such that removing the cat converter may be necessary to replace that mount. That bolt pulls out to the right (into the exhaust) Really that clunk won't hurt until you get a chance to exchange warranty company's and wait for coverage. But loose lower control arms should be repaired quickly because car control and tire wear.

NO. Trust me... I'm in the business. Extended warranties are not real warranties (such as the manufacturer warranty). They are serviice contracts with 3rd party companies who nickel and dime you to death if you ever have a claim. Better off saving that money in a rainy day fund if you ever do need repair work on the car. The F&I guy at the dealership will put huge pressure on you to buy it because he gets a BIG bonus on ext warranty deals. They are pure profit for the dealership. Don't do it!

DON'T LISTEN TO THESE MORONS WHO SAY YOU SHOULD BUY THE WARRANTY. THEY ARE CLUELESS. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!
120,000km = 75,000miles!!!!!!
All Nissans come with a standard 5 year/60,000 miles powertrain warranty... so you're paying $2000 for 15,000 miles of extended warranty.... ARE YOU NUTS?????
THAT'S CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE CHANCES OF ANYTHING MAJOR GOING WRONG WITH A NISSAN IS VIRTUALLY NIL!!!!!!! I BOUGHT A USED NISSAN WITH 60K MILES AND NOW IT HAS 120K MILES AND NOTHING WENT WRONG WITH IT!!!!!! AND THIS WAS A 4 YEAR OLD CAR UNLIKE THE NEW CARS WHICH GO WELL OVER 100K MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Nissan is not the greatest company out there and they are expensive to fix. Totally unrelated, but I bought an extended warranty on my car and have owned it a year and two months. This has saved me $8000 in repair bills and rental car fees.

In 55 years of owning vehicles - I have purchased one extended warranty and - never used it. I am adamant about maintenance so I change brake fluid every 3/4 years or 30K, Oil 2K to 4K depending if mostly highway of city driving, Transmission fluid every 30/40K. Coolant every 3 years.but, I only replace what will drain out of the radiator,( big deal with coolant is - if it is dirty - it's too late - corrosion has set in and the entire system must be flushed and replaced). Never an engine or transmission rebuild, radiator, water pump, heater core, brake caliper or master cylinder. Have had C/V axles on a Honda but, I had it 20 years before it needed it and it was the neoprene boots that failed due to age. So - I would not but, vehicles are much more expensive to repair at present. It depends on your financial status and to relieve the stress of worry of an expensive repair?
