a lot of Old Firm Fans in glasgow and the west of scotland are as thick as shite cos they are on the social and dont send their kids to school. they are sectarian bigots who go through life by what colour people are - that is are they green or blue. Americans of african descent - think yourselves lucky! People have been killed over wearing a green and white football strip or a rangers scarf.

It's not about religion but about bigotry. About going to separate schools and following the same team as your da! It's not even about football because the most bigoted of these people have never been to a game. They dont live in Glasgow, but in Lanarkshire or Ayrshire. They dont go to games but have Setanta. They wear the tops and the necklaces and during the world cup one lot had England tops on and the other lot were lost cause there country, Ireland, wasnt there.
And it's not gettin better it's gettin worse. Just look at any Orange March this year and count the under 30's! The Ugly Sisters are just a symbol of the cancer of bigotry that permeates Scottish culture. Just a part of the hatred and ultimately it has become the acceptable face of this vile culture!

I'm an irishman living in Glasgow and some of the bigotry and ignorance here is mind boggling. It usually begins with "I'm not a bigot but..." Most mindsets are stuck in 1965. I'm informed by a work colleague that his colleague refers to me as "that taig" I don't even know what that means but I'm told it's not nice! I mean in reality I've seen Rangers and Celtic fans in the same family and group of mates, it's just those places with a siege mentality who haven't seen much of the world I guess who think them over there while they think them over there. The thing is, they're so similiar as to be indistinguishable. One wears green Lacoste, the other blue!!

The problem now is that many of these idiots are just 90 minute bigots. Then again, they must all be idiots to support rangers or celtic!

i would say in the younger group of fans it is not so prevalent but the older fans who remember fights on the terraces and outside the grounds will harbour this divide.
I think the days of when a player can play for rangers and then move to celtic or visa versa without any nastiness are a long way off but we can always hope for this one day

There's not even 50,000 church or chapel go'ers in total in the whole of Glasgow so it can't be about religion. The very small minority sing and chant with the crowd but don't have a clue.

once you're at an previous employer game and celtic score do you're saying " JAISUS" or do you do the "spectacles testicles, wallet and watch" element. those are considerable aspects in looking out in case you're nonetheless a cleansing soap dodger.
