Whenever it's alone it goes on tables knocking things down, it jumps on the bed, etc... and then when I come in she jumps back down with an innocent look on her face. Do all cats act this way?

My cats get on counters and knocks things off all the time even when I'm there. It is normal for my cats. But your cat is bored and has nothing to do while your gone and she wants to be played with and be pet.So she wants to maybe find a toy or something to do while you are gone or she wants to find a spot to relax, rub against stuff, and look around. That might be your problem. I have more than one cat. Maybe another cat and/or a scratching post, condos or toys if you dont really have any already.

YES!!! I have 14 cats that love to do the same thing only at different times during the day. Very frustrating and I am constantly picking up after them. I have gotten the point where everything that they can knock over is literally unbreakable. My cats also like to drink out of the cup I'm using even if I am using it right then. It is their curiosity and sense of play that is very fun to watch. A good way to help curb this behavior is to get another cat to entertain and wear out your current cat. Good luck.

Yes, they do. They try to get away with as much as possible. It's the "I didn't do anything. Look how cute I am" look. She probably cleans herself, too. Try a squirt bottle with water if it's becoming a real problem. That seems to work most times for me. Also rewarding good behavior with kitty treats and saying she's good when scratching on the scratching post, etc. Cats love being high up and overlooking everything. Depending on where you live (rent/own) you could put up some cat ledges. I saw a program on HGTV once with a family that has ledges all over their house for their cats. It looked like they used 2x4's and build ramps for the cats. Good luck!

My older cat Tigger doesn't but I have 3 7 wk old 'foster kitties' who are FULL of curosity and mischief......2 of the them are TOO fearless and need a watchful eye to be sure they don't get in real trouble and they have 'their own' room where they stay at night and when I'm not home......I'm starting to introduce them to the rest of the house--and my dog and Tigger--so they will be ready for their new homes:)

My older cat doesn't do that but my younger one does. I guess cats do that to keep themselves entertained. I come home and find stuff all over the floor like the cats had a wild party.

It's most likely a combination of curiosity and boredom. Maybe she needs more toys. Lots of cats do this. Just maybe not to that extreme.

I sometimes leave the TV on, and the cat thinks there's a person around and behaves better.

Make him some catnip toys to play with. Our cat gets three or four of his out in middle of LR rug , plays with them, and leaves them there. I know he's been having fun
