Of course its not allowed by Law.

But Law also asks proof.

In certain circumstance . teachers should be given liberty to punish the student in his/her own way. As you know a class contains of many students from different caste , locality.

Some students are good learner. some are average. some are very bad and do not allow others to study.

In such cases , proper investigation is a must, and justice should be given to both the student and the teacher.
