Although these men may not be the guru’s that you yourself follow, think of the crowds of people who are bombarded by statements such as these all the time. People were looking to them for spiritual guidance:

“I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good. Our goal is a Christian Nation, we have a Biblical duty. We are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time nor pluralism.”
--Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue

“The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”
--Pat Robertson

“AIDS is not just God’s punishment for homosexuals; it is God’s punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals.”
--Jerry Falwell

I'd like to hear honest opinions; no personal attacks. I realize these statements may come as a shock. Thanks.

Super religious people are truly blind - They are right, everyone else is wrong. On one hand they are just super critical of others - at the extreme they will actually kill people to prove how right and good they are!
The biggest problem is that weak -minded people are easily fooled by these self-proclaimed 'leaders'. They prefer to be told what to do instead of thinking of things on their own.

I've heard these people talk like this several times. Not surprising really. They have total power over their own congregation/people/network... and total power corrupts totally. It is these types of people that give other Christians a bad name. I think they should be taxed as a business, made to show where all of their money is and is going. I'm betting they won't be in business long if we did that. Then we all wouldn't have to put up with idiocy such as this.

I would tell them. Not all Christians are anti-gay. To be honest, none of them should be. That whole "sin" thing in regards to sexuality is total BS. Remind them not to judge. It's not their place to do so. Leviticus seems to be an oft quoted bit of the bible in regard to homosexuality. I wonder how many follow ALL the rules of Leviticus. Not many, I wager.

Every faith, every particular group of people who identify with eachother has it's nutcases. As a christian I cringe when I hear things like this. I pray that I am not identified by these men. I want to shout from the rooftops "This is not what Jesus is about!!!!!" Please understand that most Christians are not like this.

twowords,
About the Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue quote:
I know what he is saying about allowing your feelings to wash over you. Sometimes it's a good way to let it out, keep things from building up. In context of the Abortion issue, I think that it is spiritually immature of him to talk this way. To me, it sounds like he's inciting a desperate plan of attack. Someone listening whose unbalanced might start blowing things up, know what I mean?

And I am one against abortion.

About the Pat Robertson quote:
It sounds like he has it about right. Not all feminists are that way, of course. But when you don't go off the eep end and think that he is referring to children already born, and that all would be socialist, I think the rest is how the leaders of the Feminist movement are. They seem so God damned evil. You ever watch one of their rallys? Yikes, they are pissy! unattractive, hateful, seething with all sorts of problems. Sometimes I think that they are jealous because they wanted to have penis's. LOL!

I'm SORRY! It's just the ones that they choose to put on stage. They are scarey people. PERIOD. lol

Other than that, I don't like to hear Pat Robertson speak. He does nothing for me and the last time I heard him talk, he was going off the deep end.

About Jerry Falwell's quote:
Jerry here, without a doubt, without any further knowledge other than what I know of him, and what I know about God, Jerry is clearly talking out his @$$ on this one.

Disclaimer: Sorry if I included any personal attacks on brothers, Randall, Falwell, Robertson, etc. ad infinitum

Those guys are all a part of the 'Dominionist' movement. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.
