I've got the New Zealand green lipped muscles which are already open- whats the best way of cooking them?
Im having them with thai green curry
Cooking for my boy who I havent seen in two weeks!

these type of muscles are already cooked they are freeze dried but if you look on this website.

mussels can be tricky if they are open and stay open when you tap them. If they do this, they are dead and should be discarded.
As you are doing a Thai green curry, I would steam the mussels on their own in water with a slice of onion. Again if they are closed after cooking, discard them. Add the rest to your Thai curry at the last minute, otherwise they will go tough.

Already opened? Hmm... Make some kind of sauce that would go good with the green curry, then cook the mussels in it. (sorry, you had the wrong kind of "mussels". I'm glad you are one of those who can actually spell muscles though :P.) Since they are already opened, I'm not sure how to tell if they are done, sorry. I hope that I helped out!

if it is fresh then wash them in plenty of warm water,then cook them in a big saucepan with salt and plenty of water for 10-15 minutes check to see if they are done u can then prepare the Thai green curry sauce and add them then serve it with the pasta, wine and a lemon slice enjoy
