I agree with you about people blaming God when bad things happen to them, when it is not really him to blame. However, I don't think it is necessarily Satan either. Sometimes, things just happen. Like natural disasters and such, it is not God or Satan. I think that when something goes wrong in peoples lives, they tend to blame either God or Satan because they don't understand why things are the way they are and why things happen. As human beings we have an unquenchable need to understand the things that go on around us, and when we cant, it is easier to just blame it all on God (or Satan) that to just accept it for what it is and move on.
And for all you out there who are saying "If God is all powerful, then why does he allow bad things to happen?" God created the world and it was PERFECT. Satan tempted Adam and Eve, and they fell for it, and that is how the world became imperfect. He gave them a choice, and they made the wrong one. I firmly believe that because they sinned, we have things like war, poverty, world hunger, etc. God didn't create these things, they are a product of sin. And yes, he is all powerful, and he could instantly stop world hunger or something, but we reap what we sow right? So if people make bad choices and do wrong things, why should God be expected to snap his fingers and fix everything? That is not how it works. I guess if you still want someone to blame, it is more correct to blame Adam and Eve, since they started it all, however, if they had not sinned, somewhere down the line, eventually, someone else would have. It all goes back to God giving us free will.

You might read the Book of Job which clearly indicates that anything Satan does he does with God's approval and permission. The notion that the Biblical Satan has any power over anyone or anything or to act outside of God's permission is a dualist heresy. You will notice he enters God's court like he belongs there. He's not skulking in the basement plotting against Job.
If a child were laying on a railroad track and a train were coming, and you left the child on the track to die, you'd say, "I am not responsible. It was the train that killed her!" I would say, "It was in your power to save the child and you chose to do nothing. The child died by your agreement because you permitted the tragedy when it was in your power to prevent it." Both good and evil come by the hand of the Biblical God, both by His active power and by His permissive will. If he indeed holds all things together, that includes Satan. Satan exists to serve God's purpose. He is not God's equal nor his rival, but his servant and his agent. If you cannot deal with a God who takes responsibility for all creation, and gives good from one hand and evil from the other, then you might want to find a religion other than middle eastern monotheism. Try Zoroastrianism. That's where most of these notions of dueling gods comes from. You can blame everything bad on Shaitan and not have to wrestle with the notion of a God that isn't your personal cosmic Care Bear.

How can the creation of evil things not be considered an evil act? By definition, God performed an evil act each time he created an evil entity.
What about all the innocent First Born egyptian children he killed. An infant an hour old couldn't possibly be associated with the evil of the pharoah. Yet they were slaughtered by God. Or the infants that were in Sodom and Ghamorrah, what did they do to deserve death at God's hand. Or the children that lived in Jericho, or in the cities that David sacked, or that Sampson destroyed, or that drowned in Noah's flood. All acts performed by or supported directly by God. So yeah, when innocent, sinless infants die as a direct result of God's act, I think those can be considered proof that God does bad things.

To Angry C, What is your point? You are still minute, God is God and you? Will still have to answer in the day of judgment, we all will, God is in heaven and you are here his thoughts are not your thoughts, nor his ways your ways, He is a sovereign God and He gives life when he chooses to and takes it away too. It took you so long to put all those versions of the bible, you should've continued to do some research and you should've kept on reading, you would've found out what will happen to those who blaspheme and are against God, The question here is why people blame God for all the bad things that happen, if you are familiar with bibles, read up on satan, he is the one who chose to rebel, be proud, evil, and caused all the chaos, God knows what he is doing. Apparently you don't!!

God did not create evil, evil entered the earth through man. How? Satan was not happy with being the most beautiful angel who was in charge music in heaven. He wanted to be worshiped and turned against God because he wanted to be God. He was then kicked out of heaven and thrown into the earth realm where he came up with the plan of tricking eve who suggested his idea to adam knowing better adam sinned against God by being disobedient therefor allowing evil to enter the earth inwhich Jesus had to come here to straighten things out and give us an opportunity to be reunited back with the father. People who blame God don't know God very well or the bible

God creating evil means that He created the possibility of making a free will choice to not submit to Him. No alternative, no free will.
So God is not evil because He created it as an option. He is a good and loving God but will not force us to worship Him.
All the bad that happens is a result of our brokenness in one way or another. One day the King will return and creation will be restored to what God intended for us. Those who are in relationship with God will live with Him forever.
Peace and grace to you.

Hi,
You are a Godsend. THANK YOU for verbally kicking some people in the rear end. I, too, am sick and tired of people blaming their problems on God.
There is a song from the 70's called,"He Was There All The Time", you should check it out. It is very inspiring. I sang it at my Church and all most everyone was crying, the words are beautiful.

I think that the reason they do this is because they don't know how to deal with their grief and anger, and instead of taking it out on one another, or holding it inside they blame God, because it's the only logical thing that they can do.
I agree and disagree with barbie, because sometimes even Christians blame God when things go wrong. And God understands that.

Because they refuse to take responsibility for their sinful ways. It's just easer to blame God. If they took responsibility for their problems, that would be admitting falt with in themselves. A lost person has to come to Jesus and admit their sins and faults to Him, and they don't want to admit that. in order to become born again. So they just keep blaming the one who is with out blame which is God instead of themselves. But thats ok, because while they are pointing their finger at God, they are pointing 3 fingers towards themselves which is the correct person to blame. It will always come back to them anyway.
