So in about a week or so, I have to go back to high school. I go to a really nice wealthy high school, its just that the drama is unbelievable! i mean, WHO CARES if barbie broke up with brad blah blah blah. i mean does it really matter? i never understood why some people enjoy talking rudely about other people, or why they care whats going on in someone elses personal life.
So, my question is, who else here hates drama, not just high school drama, but drama in general? How do you deal with it?

I hate drama!!!! The way I usually handle it is to tell my friends...hey I heard a really great quote today.
"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people."
It usually makes them feel dumb for talking about other people and they move on to another topic.

You'll get drama no matter what stage of life you are in. I do hate it, a lot. I just wish we could all chill out and stop talking behind each others backs. How do I deal with it? I sit on the fence on most topics. I'm ambiguous and grey with my responses. I try not to take sides (unless there is a REAL reason) and I make apathy my middle name. It's a good way to show that you really don't care without being rude (because oyu do want to keep friends, yes?) Pretty soon people get the idea and stop trying to drag you into it.

I try to limit my exposure to people that are always in the middle of a drama. Some people just don't feel right if they are not in the middle of a big life drama. It means less friends, but better quality of friends.
Unless you seek those people out, it will get easier after you finish high school.

I do. In high school during my junior year, I quit hanging around the "popular" kids and starting running with my own clan. I guess maybe around 10 of us all together. We didn't really do excurricular activities or hang at the school more than we needed to. It became really just about us. Those were the best years of school for me. Dump the popular in crowd. Hang with friends and do your own thing, become univolved(not with your school work) Drama was huge in my little town. When you get out of high school, you find out real life is nothing like high school. All those people who think they are all that really aren't. Popularity only works for ya in high school.

Most of my time in high school was spent in the art studio listening to heavy metal and painting. I'd rather smell the paint than deal with some of the so-called friends I once had.

I can't stand drama and avoid it at all cost. I don't like to hear rumors because they just cause drama and intrigue those leeches just waiting for it. If it doesn't concern me I just blank it out and ignore any conversation dealing with it
