I have just started life coaching and was wondering if anyone else has had it? I need to keep a diary to show my counsellor but im not sure what im supposed to write!!!

If you just started seeing this counselor, you might find it hard to trust him/her and maybe that is what makes it hard to find things to write about. What if you wrote in a separate diary that you showed no one, would you write different things?

When I first started a diary, I rated my days on a scale of 1-10, I guess based on how "successful" I felt that day was. I didn't have any goals or anything really but it was a feeling inside of feeling good/alright.

The coach should have told you what kind of things they wanted, is it a mood diary, a food diary, how often you do exercise in a day.
I had to do a mood diary for my psychologist. I had to rate my mood for the day, was I sad, angry, happy. descriptive words like that.
You need to ask if you are not seeing him/her for a bit see if you can phone the office and leave a msg asking.

how you feeling that day if you feel upset angry happy etc what triggered it
