Never had it done before, but her breath is quite bad and she was already missing several teeth when I got her.

I should add I live in Tampa, FL. I've tried the cat treats for tartar control and plaque, but they don't seem to help much. Her gums look fine, but she already is missing several of her front teeth, including one of the upper canines. She was a stray so I don't know her prior dental health history.

My vet charged $300 to clean my cats teeth and to pull one tooth. It would have been about $200 for the cleaning without having the tooth pulled. Its expensive to clean a cats teeth because they have to put them under with anesthesia. Some vets in my area do it for $150 so you might need to call around.

I would call around to different vet offices. I've had it done as cheap as $75 and as much as $155 or so. A lot of vets these days want to do a little bloodwork to make sure your cat is healthy enough before subjecting it to anesthesia, so it usually runs closer to the $155 mark these days for me. I live in Georgia, USA.
If your cat's breath is already bad and she's already missing some teeth (her dental health isn't too good), keep in mind she may need some additional teeth pulled when she is under.
Good luck!

I pay around $250 for a cleaning. Have recently compared pricing from people who listed their vets charges here. I live in one of the most expensive areas in the US -- suburb of San Francisco. Everything is higher here I think.
They have to anesthetize the cats to do it and that is the higher cost of the procedure.
I have older cats too. More prone to start having renal problems as they age. Plaque and bacteria from the mouth can get into the cats' system and infect or compromise the kidneys. I do feel you should always check your kitty's mouth for redness around the gums and have the vet decide if they need cleaning when the cat has it annual physical.

Dear Pet owner, my vet charged me $200.to clean my cats' teeth. Try picking some tender grass in the back yard and offering this to your cat. I had more money than sense when I had the teeth of my 3 cats' cleaned. I paid $600. total.

It could be quite expensive. If I recall is was about $250 to have my small dogs teeth cleaned. First they do blood tests to see if there would be any problems with the anesthesia during the cleaning. I'd say around $250.

after I took my senior cat for a cleansing it become round $60. yet he turned right into a respected dental vet that got here with a good advice. My suggestion is to hit upon a commonplace vet close to you, call them, and ask them who they could propose on your area it is nice and low-priced. The commonplace vets will continually have referrals. save round.

That depends entirely... ENTIRELY on where you are located. When I was in Texas, it cost about $75 but when I was in Phoenix (where ALL vets are CORRUPT AS HELL) it was close to $400.. but I did not do it of course when I was there.
