I'm a shy girl. Don't get worried if it gets silent, your just going to have to work harder to keep the conversation going. The easiest way to get a shy girl to open up is to make her laugh. Laughing makes me comfortable and makes me enjoy my time there. I'll probably open up faster because I won't realise since I'm having so much fun. Just try to make it fun and if she gets quiet don't get frustrated just keep trying.

Bowling is a GREAT first date......Doubling is another one......
You're off to a good start! Bowling gives you plenty of easy chances to talk and laugh. Doubling is very good for conversation......There are more than two people to keep it going.
I would really listen and pay attention to what she does say and remember those things...also ask about her and what she likes etc...Try to make her laugh not by being obnoxious but in a real relaxed way. Laughing is a good ice breaker and the sooner she is comfortable the better for you both. What you have planned sounds like the perfect first date with a shy girl. You're sweet to care so much!
Best wishes!

Just be calm and patient with her. If she's the self-conscious type, don't try to get her all boisterous and say things that are too blatant, like "Hey, you look hot today!". Most likely, that's only going to make her even more uncomfortable. Make sure she knows that you're an honest, caring guy . . . that you're not gonna try to do anything stupid and that she doesn't have to talk about stuff if she doesn't want to :). Most likely, if you don't pressure her, she'll open up to you by the end of the night.
Good luck!

Never say you are nothing special. You are special and she must see That to even consider going on a date with you. Be yourself, make her smile, and give her attention, and don't talk about other dates to her. Tell her silly jokes, ask her about her favorite things, be attentive, open the door, ask her if she wants a drink, tie her bowling shoes.
Most important , have fun, if you do, so will she. Let her be shy, its okay, and before you know it, you;ll be on your 4th date.

Humour.
Be alittle funny and silly (not abnoxious)
Ask her questions about herself (non intrusive)
Be a gentle man. Let her know her company is all you looking for at this point. This will help make her more comfortable.
Open doors for her. Offer to get her a drink, or a snack.
You will be just fine. Good Luck and have a great date.

All you can do is be yourself and hopefully she'll open up. Don't try to get her to talk or keep saying "why are you so quiet? c'mon, talk. are you uncomfortable?" Saying things like this will just make her feel even more out of place. Just act natural, ask her about herself and talk about yourself too so she knows you're just a regular guy!
how old are you, by the way?

just keep her talking. ask her questions that require a decent-length answer. get her to feel comfortable around you. at least, that's what guys have to do for me. i'm not much of a talker, so you gotta pretty much make me talk. you guys are going bowling, so how much talking do you expect to do anyway? i think bowling's a good first date b/c how can you not have fun bowling?:-) GOOD LUCK!!

maybe she'll open up, you never know. some people are just shy around everyone, and some aren't always and will open to people they feel comfortable around. so talk to her, get to know her better if you don't know her very well already, and give it some time. good luck!

Make her feel as relaxed as possible. It may even take some time for her to open up but you must be patient - don't push her or pressurize her!
