Wormers can be rough on a dogs intestinal tract, so it is not uncommon for them to have loose stools after a woming. After all, they have to be strong enough to kill parasites, but not deadly to the dog.
You should see her stool firm in a couple of days, if not call the vet. In the meantime, feed her regular food.

I don't know if this is to be expected, but I am having the same problem. We have one dog 5 m. and recently bought another, 6 weeks, who had not been wormed. When I took her for her first check up, the vet gave worm medicine and said I had to give it to the other puppy as well. They have both had very very runny stool since the first day (that was last Sunday), its getting better now. It got to the point where I started giving them some bran flakes from raisin bran cereal yesterday and today, and today their stool was much firmer. I think the medicine must be hard on puppies' digestive system because its got to hard to loosen the worms. My vet said to also feed a bit of yogurt because the wormer can flush out all the benefial bacteria as well.

Yes.. it is normal and perhaps the second and third stool will be soft.. not to worry.. Happy that you are helping the little doggie by getting rid of those pesky worms.. particularly the hook worm.

I would just keep an eye on it-if it gets any worse then I would take the puppy back to the vet with a stool sample. But, it seems okay.

This can be very normal. Be sure to keep watching though and if it continues for too long or she stops eating or drinking, call your vet. Hookworms are nasty, nasty parasites. After watching your dog defecate, pick up the fecal matter - do not bury it. Use a bleach and water solution (3:1) to saturate that section of the ground to kill any potentially missed microscopic eggs. Hookworm eggs are present in the fecal matter and CAN be transmitted to humans (zoonotic).

If you get too worried, call your vet to be sure all symptoms are normal. Also, keep her on a heartworm preventative that protects against intestinal parasites like Interceptor.

Yes, it is normal, as long as it is not runny. The medicine has to loosen everything to loosen the worms. But if you are concerned, please don't hesitate to call your vet. They don't charge for asking questions and respect first time dog owners that care enough to ask.
