well, let's see. i suppose a widely accepted idea would be, to procreate and move our species forward in terms of science, humanities, and a general understanding of ourselves.
a supreme being may play some part of it too, however, beliefs vary widely, so i think it's hard to speculate as to the role such a being plays.
