"Carolina's" answer is pretty good. I will say that your second sentence is a little screwed up. The "si le" is either totally unnecessary, or she meant:
1. Just the "si" without the "le". This would be a way of emphasizing her hope that you DO understand. Or ...
2. "si me" or "si lo" instead of "si le" - again by way of emphasis.
