and cut the carbs like the extra breads and fries
you get the carbs you need from your fruits and veggies
If you really need a carb eat it in the morning because it takes the body along time to digest them
which means if you eat them late they just turn into fat

You just need to change your whole lifestyle if you want any change to be permanent. Get out and get more exercise. Eat the healthiest that you can. You just need to get in the habit.
If you want to lose fat and keep muscle without working out, you will fail. Even if you eat hardly anything at all-- your body will "eat" your muscle. You need to continually be working out and eating well. Your body will reduce fat while keeping muscles replenished if you do that.

You need to choose the right foods. Foods that are high on the glycemic index will be converted to fat more readily than foods that take longer for your body to process. One thing I recommend is a "no white foods" diet. If you cut out milk, sugar, white rice, white potatoes, and white flour, you will lose fat.

Weight Watchers & EXCERCISE!
Excercise will definitely help with the fat and if weights are used properly - will replace with Muscle weight.
