Right now I would say a good dentist.

There are hardly any NHS dentists in England these days, everything is private so even if you just to an examination you can earn anything from £35-£55. Multiply that by 20 patients a day, 5 days a week and you have.......... errr....... quite a bit of cash!

Of course there will be patients who require other treatments such as fillings or braces and, if you turn out to be like the dentists where I live, you can bleed us dry!! literally!!

Architects are friends with other architects. This is either because they are the only other people you see because of item #3, or your interests align closely so you run into the same people (because architects don’t stop being architects at 5:00pm). I know of about 10 married couples where both are architects. I don’t know any lawyers married to lawyers, or doctors married to doctors – certainly not the extent that architect marry one another. Really, why is this?

I would say a good architect, because in this day and age, dentists are everywhere, you just have to dirve down the road , and you see dentists, where , you really have to look around to find a good architect.

Also depends on how much advertising they did

Over a lifetime a good dentist for sure.

Architecture is very cyclical. How many jobs are avilable depends on the economy and there are times when there are extremely high unemployement rates among architects.

People always have teeth, and when the economy is down still need them fixed.

Besides are architects don't make as much as people think... Salaries.com lists an architect 5 (highest level) with an average base of $62,500 ((entry level architect is $35,000) http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layoutscripts/swzl_compresult.asp?jobcode=DD19000046&jobaltername=Architect+V&jobtitle=Architect+V&narrowdesc=Architecture&narrowcode=DD01&zipcode=&metrocode=&statecode=&state=&pagenumber=1&searchpage=&searchtype=&geo=U%2ES%2E+National+Averages

a dentist is $119,000 http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layoutscripts/swzl_compresult.asp?jobcode=HC07000220&jobaltername=Dentist&jobtitle=Dentist&narrowdesc=Healthcare+%2D%2D+Practitioners&narrowcode=HC03&zipcode=&metrocode=&statecode=&state=&pagenumber=1&searchpage=&searchtype=&geo=U%2ES%2E+National+Averages

They both sound like good professions, but I would say an architect probably makes a little more.

architects make good salaries, and maximum are bigger or equivalent to civil engineers. yet the two professions are mandatory. as an occasion an architect will draw a slab of concrete, however the engineer is conscious the thank you to pour and toughen the form to make it meet code. (as an occasion a nuclear skill plant has a distinctive pour than a residential dwelling house,)
