it depends on how dirty your dog is. when our dog gets really nasty dirty (he likes to walk under my mom's truck and gets axle grease on himself) my mom uses suave daily clarifying. Westies are NOTORIOUS for skin diseases and being prone to skin irritation, and it does not harm him at all. however, you should use a conditioner on the dog afterward too. it helps keep the hair silky and shiny and soft-- the same reason why we use it. There is nothing wrong with it.

OMG I can't believe half these answers. No you can Not use human shampoo on a dog. Human shampoo is meant to strip oil from your hair. Dogs have a hard time producing oil so if you use it on your dog his skin will become very dry and itchy. You can use human conditioner, but NOT shampoo, also make sure you bathe your dog no more than once every other month.

Never a good idea. Human shampoo is too harsh to use on dogs, buy dog shampoo. At the very least, buy baby shampoo and dilute with half water.

Yes,, if your dog does not have skin issues. I have been using Mane and tail for about 5 years now. Put half water half shampoo, it distributes better that way. Any shampoo does. I also use the conditioner. Baby shampoo too.

It probably wouldn't be good for your dog. Try shampoo for dogs instead. It works much better. Try 2 in 1 flea shampoo not just regular.

I've never heard of female shampoo. I would think any human shampoo would be too drying for their skin.

Sometimes. It depends on the dog. You could try it and then see it the dog is scratching itself a lot or its skin is iritated. If it is don't use human shampoo.

Yeah. My irish setter loved strawberry-scented Suave. If your doggie has sensitive skin, though, you're better off with an oatmeal or green tea shampoo.
