Looking for a bar or club that plays rock, indie, alternative, Britpop, oldies, etc. for dancing in Seoul.
Been told to check out the areas around the university, but if you know the name of a particular place, that would help. I know of live music venues but am looking for places with a DJ. Want to hear bands like The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Blur, etc> stuff you can dance to that's not hip hop or house music. English or Korean rock. Hopefully there's something that is close to our tastes. Thanks!

Go to Itaewon, Sincheon, or Kangnam. You'll find some good places.

I wish I could give you names, but yes Hong Dae is the best place. There are places that have live rock bands and all sorts.
There is one bar in Hong Dae called Club FF, I keep getting emails from them, and it sounds like a great place. If you take subway line 6 to Sang Su station and exit gate 1... head up towards Hong Dae uni and on the corner of the road is a 7 eleven, when you see that, head left down that road, and it's on your right a little bit down.

They have monthly parties, where they get in DJ's play all the classics, old stuff new stuff, and they have all you can drink cocktails for 20,000won.

Otherwise there are a few basement bars with some great rock and punk.

Seoul could be the capital of Korea and it has over 600 decades of history and now you can learn it with hotelbye . Seoul is the center of Korea's lifestyle and training as well as politics and economics. Seoul is house to numerous old historical sites like Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces, and areas of old-fashioned lifestyle like Bukchon Hanok Village, Insa-dong, and Namdaemun Market. The shopping and amusement districts of Myeongdong and Apgujeong, and Asia's greatest undercover buying center COEX Mall also draw a sizable amount of tourists every year. In just one word, Seoul is amazing, is a town worth visit.
