There was said, God has a plan for your life.
It always used to bother me because there was a connotation that the person who was saying it knew what the plan for me was. This was a church person usually.
Now I know that I am living that plan everyday.
Just like you and everyone else.
Are we influenced?
Yes, once in a while.
Do we live as we please?
Yes, once in a while.
We are going day to day, some days better than others.
Some days really bad.
As to your question.
Some days above the influence.
Some days under the influence.
An example:
I met this person in need, it was money, I gave him what he needed.
Within me a strange feeling, a good feeling.
I believe that this was under the influence of God.
Then another time I met an aggrivator, he ticked me off.
I lashed out at him with aggressiveness, afterward I felt very bad.
I think that this was living above the influence of God.

I live my life under the influence of God. God is in control of my life and I want to live according to God's will for my life.

To live under His Influence is to live in complete freedom of Spirit, no longer enslaved to the petty ego qualities that look down on others, and mock those who don't agree with you. To live under His Influence is to find Love and Compassion, instead of hatred and fear...I'm not talking "religion."

I do my best to live according to the word of God. I repent of my sins daily and ask the Lord to use me any way He sees fit, that brings glory to His name, and hopefully lead a lost soul to Him.
