Is this a pre-established 2nd bathroom or are they creating it in anyway?
Just to fit a power shower unit over an existing bath - or into an existing shower cubical should take a couple of hours. But it there is cabling and plumbing (+tiling??) to sort out that will take up more time.
Even so, three men 6 days seems a bit excessive - what did they quote you for?

If they are just fitting a shower then you are being ripped off. A shower can be fitted by one man in a couple of hours, with ease.
If, however, they are putting in the electrical cabling from your fuse box as well as the plumbing for the water then it is a bigger job and totally dependent on the layout of your house and how difficult it is to run the cables and piping. In that respect, it could take a while.

Is it because (1) you insist on taking a bath whilst they try to work?
(2) live in Beriut?
(3) You only got a quote from the Stodge Bros?
(4) They don't work on Sundays?
(5) You run a plumbing and heating college?

Because they think you will pay them for 6 days work - did you get a quote before the work started?
A shower install should be half a days work at most..

maybe they arnt shower fitters and where burglars, you caught them and said "are you the shower fitters?" and they where like "er (looking at each other) yes, yues we are"
Now theyre up to their necks in it and makin it up as they go along, but dont worry this is a comedy so theyll either get away and have the sympathy of the viewer or youll fall in love with one and ittl be a box office hit!!!
