I have this problem. It is a dry scalp. Find shampoo that says that it helps with dry scalp. Dandruf shampoo usually does help with that. Some people are very sensitive. If she uses the new brand of shampoo for a length of time an it helps but then the itching comes back then she may have to change shampoo brands every six months on a rotating basis. Lokk for shampoos with moisterizers.

Is she washing it everyday. I believe that drys the scalp out. I wash mine everyother day. It works for me but I also don't put gel or hairspray in my hair. Maybe get some dandruff shampoo and conditioner. Even though she may not have dandruff she probably has a dry scalp. I think dandruff comes from dry scalp.
If this doesn't help maybe she should go to the doctors. They could check to see if she has ring worm. I think its ring worm. Anyhow it could be sometime of particular worm. It gets under the skin. When I had hair loss the first thing they checked for was some type of worm with a blue light. My hair loss was from something different. I do remember them asking me if my head was itchy before they checked for worms.
Don't worry if it is worms its easy to get rid of. I am sure more than likely it is just a dry scalp. Maybe one of the products she is using is drying out her scalp.
good luck

I would suggest her using conditioner. If she is already using conditioner, perhaps a dandruff shampoo would help. Dandruff shampoo is supposed to help with that kind of thing.
Also with the weather, I would keep checking to make sure lice isn't the culprit. If she is just in the early stages, you may not see them. My daughter can attract a lice at 50 feet ( lol )
It just sounds like its dry scalp. Perhaps baby shampoo would help. It could be an allergy to the shampoo she is using. Baby shampoos are often known for being gentle. Non irritating with the lack of all the other things adult shampoo uses.

Maybe try a medicated shampoo or wash it every other day instead of every day. Itchy scalp can be a number of things and since you say she doesn't have dandruff, her scalp is probably dry. First try the every other day washing or switch to a shampoo that is medicated for itchy scalp. If that doesn't work she might have to see a dermatologist.

She probably just has a dry scalp which is common. She should try switching to a moisturizing shampoo like Garnier Frutis or Pantene Pro V. She could also use a Hot Oil treatment in her hear twice a month. Try V05.. that works well.

Psoriasis maybe? Dandruff? Neither of these are uncommon. Psoriasis on the scalp is extremely itchy. There is shampoo for it. Maybe tell her also to condition her scalp with good conditioner once a week or so.

The product that she is using to wash her hair might not be great for her hair and scalp. It's probably making her head have dry spots that causes it to be itchy. You should see a doctor or a professional hair expert such as a beauty salon person to see if they can also find out why your sister's head is always itchy.

Washing your hair too much will dry up your scale and hair. Maybe some gel or spray is causing the problem. Use Seldom Blue hair shampoo. It will stop the itching.

she might have dry scalp (dandruff), she can try an anti itch/dandruff shampoo, if it persists, see the doctor, or a dermatologist.
maybe she is allergic to a product she is currently using.
good luck.

should could just have dry scalp....you can get a jar of cholesterol treatment from any beauty supply place and apply the treatment to the scalp and leave it on for 20-30 min. then wash it out. do this once a week and if it's dry scalp it should be feeling better in no time...good luck to you and your sister!
