Cows and snakes have some special significance in Hindu mysticism.Can you explain/?

well Hinduism is a least understood simply it is not a religion established by claiming , that's god is speaking through my mouth neither it has an strong dateline or line to have an unified and central command like other religion have .

Hinduism have evolved with time and learning, it was consider very wrong to label oneself with certain belief and clam to be a exclusive chosen one's. well cows are consider very secret simply because it provides us with daily need of milk, butter and yogurts in hot days to keep you cool these food consist of very major part of daily diet so as to give them a respect great thinkers created an culture of respect towards cow. Thant not only helped to kill animals for consumption but also help to make animal place clean.

snakes do not have same respect it is still consider to be a danger. although it is shown around the neck in pictures of shiv god's statue it symbolizes that even the habits witch are like snacks with hurt us and others can be controlled by yoga meditation witch is reflected in his carm attitude and meditating and blissful face of great shiva, in pictures

Cows are considered highly in Hinduism for two main reasons,
1) It is believed that the Devi Lakshmi had incarnated in this form for whatever reasons at that time I am not sure.
2) The cow is consider like a mother because the manner in which it suckles its young and other simillar traits, also it sustains human lives with the milk, etc.

The snake is considered out of respect because it said to be a form of the Lord Shiva, who is depicted as a dietie with a snake around his neck and other parts of his body. Shiva is known as one of the trinity, ie Bramha, Vishnu and Shiva. Three, but yet only one.
All the different forms are just representation of the one true God for the purpose you need him for. It is said that the different forms can perform more specific for your desired need at the time.
